Ok.. So, I have to ask- Do "Incident Command" & the 1,201 firefighters that remain on scene have any aspirations of achieving more than 84% containment on this thing, or has it now become what used to be called a 'campaign fire'? We're into our second week of NO increase in containment acreage. Why is this fire being allowed to spread? Are we or aren't we still in fire season? Why are there no new reports of SUPPRESION EFFORTS? It's my understanding that the BAER team is responsible for rehab efforts.. Why are fireline rehab & salvage logging all that we hear about? Isn't it time to put this thing to bed, while the weather's on you side?
When will they release the information regarding who is responsible for starting this fire.
We have heard that a marijuana grow started it, then a hunter, and now it was some kayakers.
Why all the mystery?
The remaining area without containment lines are in the emigrant wilderness area that is nearly solid granite, very little fuel for the fire to burn. This is a natural barrier. But there are no actual fire lines. I doubt 100% containment will ever happen because of this area.
@cattle dog, myMotherLode has not published anything about marijuana or kayakers. The Tuolumne County DA is responsible for bringing charges and building a case, if there is one, against a hunter who was officially reported as starting the fire.
