This looks like the exact same article that was posted yesterday after the Governor visted Tuolumne City.
Do we have any specific updates on the direction the fire is moving and the continued heroic efforts of the responders to contain this horrendous fire? That would be very much aprpeciated by those of us affected by the fire. Thanks!
When is the last time that a Governor went to a disaster area, and did not check on the citizens? That is what happened here yesterday.
If there is a large earthquake in Los Angeles, the Gov is seen checking on the Red Cross shelters, etc.
Mudslide in Santa Barbara, the Gov is seen checking on the Red Cross shelters, etc.
Fire in Yosemite? Got a call from 0Bama? Better make a photo op appearance in front of the fire fighters, and then scoot back to Sacto.
If you ever had any doubts that your votes dont count, it was proven yesterday. It is truly an outrage that Brown couldnt stop for 15 minutes and speak to the citizens.
Governor Brown also stated, "This is something we have to live with, and it may get worse in the years to come."
Are you kidding me? We don't "have" to live with this fire hazard, and there is no reason for it to get worse in years to come. That is unless we do what we did after the complex, which was little to nothing to manage our forests at all. If we do that then this will be repeated over and over again.
Governor Brown came to speak face to face with the people and agencies directly responsible for fighting this fire and then had the dignity to get out of the way and let them continue to do their jobs. He didn't turn this into a phony political photo op because that is not what this is about and that is not the kind of man he is. Better he return to Sacramento and continue trying to ensure that everything is being done that can be done to help those trying to put out this fire and save our homes. A raging fire does not care if you are an elephant or a donkey, and, thankfully, neither do the men fighting it.
Right ON Ayn! You are a good observant thoughtful writer. Thanks.
thegiantkahuna I do not think you are ever happy, I hope things get better for you someday, all the angst is unhealthy. It is sad to read you are outraged so often. You will never be out of rage.
