I would like to proposed a 5 cent tax on every breath a Democrat takes as it is a waste of good air.
Ehe central bankers tighten their noose on us so they can take away our guns
Always nice to see that the solution to a problem is more taxes!
No! Simply no! No more taxes!! The powers that be made the mess they're in and want to tax us more to resolve it. Voters approved a new tax to help California and the first thing those idiots did was vote themselves a raise. NO MORE TAXES!!!
why not raise taxes across the board and skip the one tax increase at a
time ! Oh and just come out and say no guns at all that's what the liberals are after . you know that they will use any tax money collected
for what ever they want . The state does not even know how much money in total taxes it gets already they just know more is better for them .
Here we go again, lets punish the honest citizens of California who own fire arms.
They'd steal it back and charge you interest, "for the Children"
Guess we better go out and buy more bullets--keep stocking up. I am not paying a "fee to purchase a permit to buy bullets:" What a crock of *^@%....
California would be such a great place to live if we could just get rid of the Democrits!
People...now is the time to inundate your congressmen and women with letters, emails and calls. We might as well change the name of our state to Taxifornia....and they wonder why everyone is vacating the state!
I wish I could raise my income every time I wanted too.
we want more, we want more, give us more.....its not complicated
We should all get together and alternate making trips to AZ to buy ammo, smokes and twinkies. I'd rather pay the gas money than give it to the government.
Crocket once the people wake up to the fact on Capitol Hill and even at every state level of government there are NO PARTY LINES the sooner people will see the forest through the trees.
Alezo, Its not just Democrats. Its all Politicians. Crooked as a barrel of snakes and no stopping them. They tell you what you want to hear during election time and do as they please the rest of the time. We have entered a time where honesty is a four letter word. I could count the truely honest folks I know on one hand. I'm afraid there's no hope left for our state or country. Makes me kinda happy to be older so I won't have to see how it all turns out.
How about we stop handing out money to all of the illegal (notice I didnít say undocumented - ILLEGAL) people in this state sucking off the system.
I bet California would be flush with cash once we stop funding south of the boarder baby making machines from jumping the fence and grabbing miles and miles of benefits derived from our hard earned tax dollars.
VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!! "It would raise an estimated $1.2 billion and go towards unspecified health programs"...ie general fund and pay raises for the self imposed rich.
The legislators need to stick with Jerry Brown and his budget. No more taxes - if all the legislators can think of to make California better is raise taxes...then they just need to go back to their own towns, cities, etc and help bring down their costs an volunteer for a good cause.
Smoking is a dirty and nasty habit and once you get hooked it is very hard to quit. With all the educational material and graphic images that has been out there over the years there should be no one under forty smoking and the ones who can say they were conned into it by deceptive advertising are senior citizens. Still you see people of all ages smoking including those who are too young to legally smoke. That is just human nature and as dumb as it is, their right.
With all that said there is no honor in the government taxing smokers the way they have. I remember seeing cigarettes in vending machines for 50 cents a pack and now the government is slapping taxes on a pack at a rate of one to two dollars every time you turn around. On one hand they condemn the evil cigarette corporations for making massive profits off of blood money and on the other they hammer smokers with taxes to feed their lust for increased revenues. What is the difference?!
Now our great state politicians want to launch the same tax war on gun owners. They want to force you to pay a 50 dollar fee for a license to buy ammunition in the name of safety. Presently you have to pass a gun safety and law test to purchase a handgun and take a hunter safety class to purchase a hunting license. They want to add a 10% tax to ammo which would bring the total tax on purchasing ammo up to around 18%. There have been some crazy ideas of a 50 cent per round tax on ammo meaning a 100% or more markup on the price for some calibers.
This is all just another back door effort at gun control trying to price people out of owning guns. At the federal level the government has created an ammunition drought by the Department of Homeland Security buying up most of the ammunition especially .223 and 5.56 calibers. They canít win a frontal attack on the Second Amendment so they are going covert and behind the scenes on us.
The Democrats hold a two thirds majority in Sacramento so they can do anything they want so watch out!
maybe i'll start a black market on ammo and cigarettes, just call me a small business....neighboring states will be happy to sell me the goods...
All I can say is we all better hope all those people don't quit smoking. I don't think Ca could handle the lost revenue from taxing smokers and you can bet you and I would have to make up the differance :-)
This is just the beginning! What do you expect? Nothing in California is going to change until the Democrats are voted out! Good luck with that!!!
