I can't help but think of those 274+ soldiers who were dumped in a landfill though. The govt is STILL covering it up. Who will Honour those who gave their lives, only to have the govt dump them in a landfill?
Sorry about that.
I am pleased that our local law enforcement honour their comrades.
These guys put their lives on the line everyday, I am thankful.
But I am disappointed that My Motherlode com didn't have the picture of the CHP car door that they ALWAYS put up as a picture because they couldn't get a real photo from the story.
I am very surprised to see only 2 Law Enforcement deaths in A state of 37 million in an entire year. Is this all Law Enforcement? I regularly hear how extremely dangerous being an officer is, and how officers risk their lives on a daily basis and I have to believe this is a misprint.
Otherwise wouldn't this be considered an extremely safe job with just 2 fatality's a year in the entire state?
Thank you for your service and....Stay Classy Sonora.
It's nice to see the Color Guard from Sierra Conservation Center in the picture's along with other local law enforcement agency's ! I love living in this county and knowing how many officers we have protecting us give's a sense of security that is rare when compared to other area's...
What AN HONOUR.
A sincere thank you for serving. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Do stay safe Had I known I'd have attended. Just saw the article.
Stay Classy Sonora-2 deaths in Calif-it's not a misprint-just a highly good year for law enforcement in California. You want to see the Stats-go to ODMP.org on the web-you can see it all-Very Sad-
And it is extremely dangerous being a cop-call up the Sheriff's office, go for a ride along-see what it's like-depressing to me-the majority of it is negative. I couldn't do it.
On a different note-I am SO DISAPPOINTED that the Union Democrat AGAIN chose to not post ahead of time the date & time of the ceremony.
The Rooster appreciates all law enforcement, although not so much when I'm getting a ticket. I would like to thank all of the men and women that keep me and my family safe. I would have loved to take my children to this event had I known about it.
I am proud to live in Tuolumne County. I think it's sad to hear what's going on with how the county is treating the Sheriff Deputies and their families. I know first hand that they are not paid well, and the job conditions are deplorable. I was happy to see many of them in the Memorial! God bless all who protect us...
