It is good that they are cleaning the spill site. Can they also use bio-remediation as a way to fully clean the spill?
I know it works on gas station spill plumes deep underground.

By the time this state gets it done right we might just as well build a 10 million dollar bridge over it. The epa super fund will milk this for 30 years!! A whopping 1000 gallons what a may day, earth will never recover??

"The distinct smell of gas was still at the site today at 2:00pm". Perhaps they should just light a match and get rid of it that way? It might be quicker than trying to clean it all up, a shovelful at a time. Doesn't it evaporate pretty quickly, in any case?

it's only a thousand gallons..It's rained it's done milk it..thease guys are getting paid by the insurance company..If the county had to pay for this ..they would say.."take two asparin and go to bed."..simple..follow the money trail..sonoraman

I can’t wait for one of our normal contributors’ that post on this forum to tell me that Obama, Bush, or the State of California is somehow to blame for some minor inconvenience to their daily life.

I know this is inconvenient to go around on the detour, but PLEASE SLOW DOWN on Sims Rd. And STOP sneaking through the cone zone !!
It's blocked off for safety reasons, theirs and ours !! I live in that zoned off area, and I drive around too...

WOW...So it looks to me like you people have nothing better to do then sit at home and complain about a problem you know nothing about... the STATE is not doing the clean up, the truck that wrecked their company is doing the clean up, and have you ever heard of enviromentist they are all over the place down there. So if you want to point fingers start there. Second I love how everyone is so quick to throw Cal Trans under the bus, who do you think keeps the roads clear when it snows or there is ice on the road, it doesn't just diappear these guys are out there all night long making sure the highway is safe for you to drive on so instead of criticizing them maybe you should be thanking them.

I still find it funny that in all of the reporting that has been done on this story, there as not beenone mention of the gas company that this truck was working for. Just find that interesting....
