liberal democrats don't care about cost ! They will just implament a new fee on some unrelated item .
why not look at why health care is so exspensive , including
going to the dentist . If there were no insurance at all heath care
cost would be alot more inline with the working class wages .

Republicans like Bigelow don't care if low income people have access to affordable healthcare.

The Govt Accounting Office (GAO ) estimates that the FailBama HealthFraud Scheme will INCREASE the deficit by $6.5 TRILLION.

The FailBama HealthFraud Scheme will cost $6,500,000,000,000 MORE then the health care that we had last year, over a ten year period.

FailBama, the miserable liar in the White House, claimed the FailBama HealthFraud Scheme would save $2,500 per year. NOPE!!

Ballpark numbers there are 60 million TAXPAYERS (not the 47%) that earn over $50k per year.

That means that the averge taxpayers share of the FailBama HealthFraud Scheme is $108,000 over next ten years; about $11k per year.

Thanks FailBama!

Forget the cost! The fedreal government for the first time is making me buy a product I don't want at the point of a gun.

Health Care- the only business in America where 10 people can walk into an office and get charged 10 different prices for the same thing.

Why not start there Mr Bibelow?

When I took a forced early retirement I tried unsucessfully to obtain affordable health ins. coverage. (I have an existing health condition) I have discovered that every doctor I have dealt with so far has been willing to take 50% or in some cases even 33% of their normal rate when I tell them up front that I have no Insurance. I also noticed when I had Ins coverage that the Ins. companies would only pay the Drs. and hospitals 25% to 33% of what the charges were. Why do Drs. and Hospitals originally bill Patients and Ins. Companies at a higher rate and then discount their rates? Doesn't this cloud the whole issue of health care costs? Who really knows which figures are being used when health care costs are discussed? Do the Feds and State programs pay the inflated price or get a discount ??

I would also like to know why the Drs. and Hospitals would happily penalize me and inflate the amount they bill me 150% to 200% over what an Ins. Compay would pay if I didn't ask for the discount? I'm sure a lot of people don't realize that they can get a discount if they ask. Seems awfully unfair to me???

MediCal nor Medicare cover Dental in California. Malpractice law suits have drove up the price of all health care. Big pharma is another reason the price of health care is up. What is does come down to is each individual needs to take better care of themselves.

whoknew - I don't pretend to be an expert on healthcare, but I believe that both insurance companies and Medicare have fixed rates of reimbursement that are well below the "rack rates" that doctors or hospitals might bill. So, if you have insurance, the provider will get reimbursed whatever the contracted rate is. If you don't, you will get billed the rack rate, which can be several times greater. However, you can often negotiate the amount down by say, 50%, but it still probably won't be as low as the insurer's contracted rate. I'm sorry you are having trouble finding insurance - it seems there can be a huge gap in coverage if you are in your late 50's or early 60's. The AHCA will prevent your being turned down for a pre-existing condition, but I don't think that kicks in until 2014.

whoknew?,

Hospital charges $10,000 for a service.
Insurance pays $1,500 and insured pay $200
Hospital writes off $8300 loss- pays no income tax- end of story.
