Let us all wish him well and not speculate on the WHY? It could be personal, family, medical or any number of reasons. Hopefully as with any organization that is worthwhile the person left in charge is up to the task at hand in his absence and the college will run smoothly.

Sonoraman, your right, I apologizes.

I agree sonoraman. And if it does run smoothly lets eliminate a position.

I have do not know Mr. Gervin, but it seems a little far fetched to speculate, almost libelous. The school was a good one when I went there and I'm sure the college will be in good hands.

While he's gone lets move the campus three miles up the hill. Boy will he be surprised when he comes back!

Cop, I'm sure if a position like that wasn't needed then I'm sure lesser ones would be eliminated first elsewhere in the community ;) Jobs have a purpose these days no matter if we are ignorant enough to think otherwise or not.

"According to YCCD Chancellor Joan Smith, 'I know Dr. Gervin will be an outstanding President for Columbia College. During my time as the president of the college I worked alongside Dennis and have been most impressed with his work ethic, dedication to student learning and success and his love of Columbia College—the college will be in good hands now.'"

What changed, Joan Smith?
