Guns do not kill people. People kill people with any instrument or device of destruction at their means. I say we ban the Spoon and the Fork. They contribute to more deaths yearly than guns and cause our health care costs to rise.

Where was this poll taken ?
Who conducted this polll ?
Did the people being polled understand what is behind the
proposals ?
Were the costs pro and con explained
In california there is + - 38,000,000 people , ther are
approxemently 1220 firearm deaths . While it is sad for any one to
be murdered . It is a very small % of the population , How many of
these deaths are gang and crime , drug related ?
Would not it be better money spent on education , and health care ?

I can believe this. Women voted en masse for Obama and promises. All facts point out that right to carry states have less gun voilence. mostly emostion and false promises are the way to get the majority of the women vote.that's why 30 second sound bites work so well.

The poll was completed February 5-17, 2013 among 834 registered voters in California. In order to cover a broad range of issues and still minimize voter fatigue, some of the questions in this report were
asked of a random subsample of 415 registered voters.
Interviewing was conducted by telephone in English and Spanish using live interviewers.
The Field Poll was established in 1947 as The California Poll by Mervin Field and has operated continuously as an independent, non-partisan, media-sponsored public opinion news service. The Field Poll currently issues forty to fifty reports per year.

Smart women arm themselves and their daughters. Smart prepared women practice shooting at gun ranges. There is no way a woman can protect herself against a man trying to harm her unless she owns and knows how to use firearms. Men are simply much stronger than women. Women do not need to lose any rights to firearms. If I was a woman I would have a concealed weapon on my person at all times. If I was a woman living alone I would have ready access to several firearms for self protection against men. Practice your shooting skills ladies and do not let anyone take away your rights to firearms.

Since men have always done the vast majority of killing people to protect rights, property, lives and freedom. Women have not been exposed to extremely violent situations like men have and I don't think they may have the same understanding of over whelming force. If two men break into my house I don't want to be limited to 7 shots from a bolt actin weapon. Also the background check and permit for Ammo I don't agree with, or the higher taxes on ammo. Some women might think a new law or tax will control people, but if that were true there would be no murders or drug use or rapes, or burglaries etc. The only thing that will stop a violent person is overwhelming force, not a piece of paper. There is a reason when you hear a noise at night the man goes to check it out, not the woman.

I find it so hypocritical of women to fight for the right to kill an unborn innocent baby but not allow women to protect themselves. If more women knew how to responsibly carry and shoot a gun to protect themselves, there would be less crime against women. Ask any convict why they picked on a woman and they will tell you it is because she was vulnerable. Take a well trained woman with a firearm to protect themselves and you sure won't find a victim. Why women think they live in a ("let's just all love each other and get along) world will find themselves to be potential victims. Criminals only pick on the weak and vulnerable. Put on your big girl pants and take care of yourself.

Women probably support more gun control because they are the ones who are likely to get shot during a domestic violence incident by their husbands or boyfriends; just like in the Oscar Pestorious case. Women in violent households are constantly worried about this.

The data on these polls can be manipulated to state whatever they want the outcome to be. FOR EXAMPLE: It could be 99.9% against stricter control but they would manipulate the data and word the final outcome to show the 1 tenth of 1% are the majority and want stricter laws. Read the poll data not just page 1 either, read page 7, page 9, the heart of the information they don't want you to see.

I know many, many smart women who are very much in favor of gun control. "Control" is the operative word here - not "removal" of every weapon on the planet. And Thrinnskaar your comment about women having the right to vote is very scary and sad. Just sayin'

Squirt, women are more likely to become victims of any crime because women are weaker. Women depend on men to protect them, therefore men's opinions, being the protectors of families, should be taken very seriously. Women who don't have men to protect them should get a gun to protect themselves. Female emotions should not dictate policy.
Women in violent relationships need to fear for their lives regardless of whether there's a gun, shovel, pick axe, knife or vase in the home. A man can kill a woman with his fist. She should have a Derringer tucked into her sanitary pad box in the bathroom, and when he attacks her, lock herself into the bathroom. He can enter at his own risk.

Considering how often in the 21st Century genocide has followed "gun control" I seriously doubt those polled are even aware of the threat they face giving up their constitutional rights. I for one do not want the United Nations dictating our countries rights. "Twelve Democratic senators have joined 45 Republicans in a fast growing movement to halt progress on an Obama-backed United Nations effort that could bring international gun control into the United States and slap America's gun owners with severe restrictions. The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty, which the Bush administration had opposed, would regulate with the international trade of arms. It would cover the trading of conventional firearms likes those used by collectors and sportsmen and women"

The Obama administration has not enforced many gun laws already on books with gun crime prosecutions hitting a decade low in 2011, down 40 percent from their "peak" under President George W. Bush in 2004. Obama and Holder wouldn't want to insult their voters since most gun crime is by liberals.
Data from the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS), which found in 2010, of 6 million Americans who applied to buy a gun, less than 2 percent -- or 76,000 -- were denied. Of those, the ATF referred 4,732 cases for prosecution. Of them, just 44 were prosecuted, and only 13 were punished for lying or buying a gun illegally.
Gun control is not about crime but pulling the teeth of our Constitution.
CHANGE brought to you by Democrats.

I believe that if more women were educated regarding criminal behavior and were trained at an early age about gun use and how to use them, they wouldn't be voting so ignorantly about "gun control." Countless women's lives would have been spared or saved had they been armed and trained. Women are more vulnerable and they, more than anyone else should be educated and armed.
