If it has to be done, get it done right the first time and be done with it so the problem does not have to be revisited later.
I've had to do the detour several times already. It's really not that terribly distressing. LOL

The detour is only bad if you go ALL the way to Chinese Camp (the way CalTrans wants you to)... If you cut across at Sims its really not that bad.... (unless you meet a big truck coming the other way)....Hope they dont close Sims down (there have been at least 2 accidents on that road that I have seen)

Just wondering, who is footing the bill for all of this? Is it the company the gas truck was delivering for? Is it us? What company did this truck work for by the way? I haven't heard any mention of that yet??

The company who the truck and driver work for should be responsible unless there is an extenuating circumstance in which someone else, ie another agency is found to be at fault.

They need to make sims one way for west bound traffic and est bound have them go up to 49

Can one of the reporters at MyMotherLode or KVML/KZSQ find out from Caltrans or the County just who is responsible for the substantial bill for all this protracted environmental cleanup? I'm sure the public would be VERY interested in the true facts.

Could you check with CalTrans and update this story? I came through Tuesday at 7PM and the detour was still in place. The story says it ends at 5PM. Thanks.
