c) unable to vote Democrat until the budget is balanced.

BTW, California still has the highest percentage of illegal aliens on welfare

These proposals sound reasonable. Most of the illegals I grew up with came here to make a better life for their families. They weren't criminals, but hard working people; toiling in the fields tending to crops in extreme heat. The kids from these families all went to college and became professionals in fields such as medicine. Although the kids I went to school with were born here, their parents came here illegally and are now legal citizens. We need immigrants like these to do the work that most Americans can't or won't do. But immigrants wanting to come here to work must follow the rules in regard to visas and a path to citizenship. These people are not bad or evil, but hardworking people contributing to our economy. It is wrong to assume that all illegal immigrants are criminals.

Now that California has Mexicans as a majority every law that comes up about illegal aliens getting a pass on breaking the law and getting cheaper tuition for college and having different entitlement programs, just for them, will pass.As they will be the majority of the population this year.

This also can be tied to an earlier poll on why people don't trust the judicial system. We won't enforce the immigration laws we have on the books.

I don't for the life of me understand how they can give them a drivers license if they are here illegally. Wouldn't it be the duty of the DMV to call law enforcement and have them arrested? If laws can be broken because you are here illegally then why can't those of us born here break some laws of our own. Are we going to now pick and choose which laws are legal to break but they will still be laws? Very Baffling to me??? Not even mentioning how do you enforce automoble insurance requirements on illegals ??? Someone Pleeeease explain to me how this can work and still enforce immigration laws......

It's easy to see the 'Field Poll' didn't touch base with anyone very far from the coast. Central Valley and East and this is a very different state.

Something's fishy about that poll. Who believes 90% of Californians want to reward illegal immigrants with citizenship? I don't.

No one who enters this country illegally should ever be granted citizenship. We have laws, You and I as citizens have to follow them or we will be punished in some way. We sent men to the moon, do you think we are not smart enough to stop illegals from coming in, or sending them home? The majority of those polled no longer have the backbone to do what is right.

My taxes are too high already!! If you're here illegally, you should have no right to taxpayer funded education, health , food or housing benefits. You should have one right and one right only. The right to be deported!!!

No one asked me. I think they only asked the illegal's.

Can we just get it over with and take over Mexico? An "American Union" seems inevitable, so we may as well get started. They obviously can't manage it themselves, and they are pretty much financially combined with California anyway. We can help bring them into this century, by making them the 52nd through 55th states (Puerto Rico being number 51).

My parents are imigrints and they came to Tuolumne county in the early 60's. They always worked and never were on cash aid or welfare. My parents raised 5 kids, yes they are from Mexico. Some people do things the right way. Please don't judge.

What does this say to those who followed the proper steps to citizenship? This is a slap in the face to everyone that did it the right way. What is next, reward criminals for committing other crimes? Maybe robbery if you don't use a gun?

A question for all of you folks who feel threatened by little brown people who may not speak your language - if all the illegals were white anglophones, how would you feel about them? Would you even care about their immigration status?

@Purpleback, Did your parents come here illegally? If so they were breaking the laws of my country and I find that disrespectful.Just because they were successful doesn't make it right. If they came here legally they are not being judged because the conversation is about "Illegal Aliens."
