The out of control spending must be stopped.
The Dim controlled Senate has not passed a budget in 3 years.
The Dim controlled Senate has rejected every spending cut recommended by the GOP house; and every budget passed by the House.
0Bama promised to go through the budget line by line and cut every expense.
0Bama promised $2.50 of spending cuts for every $1 tax increase. They should have proposed at LEAST $4 trillion in REAL spending cuts.

Call Diane Feinstien, Boxer, Pelosi, et al TODAY and demand that they cut spending.

If the Current Regime Master didn't want..."a series of arbitrary, automatic budget cuts...: perhaps he and his CONgressional puppets shouldn't have written them.

In the meantime, this is still a Federal Republic form of government and he can either choose to negotiate and compromise or continue governing by fiat as he has been.

The left is worried the cuts won't hurt very bad and the people will see it isn't such a travesty to cut 4% from the annual growth rate. This won't reduce the 16 trillion plus debt but it represents limits on spending and that is a good starting point.
Why not cut foreign aid, aid to the arts and other non-necessary hand outs?
We have to cut spending. Taxing rich people is Obama's only solution, and it is a poor one at that. Our President is foolish to continually propose expensive new programs such as free pre-school when we can't even afford the non-necessary programs we already have.

This “Dooms Day Mechanism” was included in the Budget Control Act of 2011, to force the bipartisan “Super Committee” to come to an agreement on deficit reduction that included both new revenue and social program spending cuts. Recall that the U.S. Congress took a “hostage-taking” posture in regards to raising the federal debt ceiling (i.e. money that was already spent and we were now obligated to pay). At no other time in history, has America welched on what it owed. 174 Republicans and 94 Democrats voted to put this legislation into law. Congress gave this thing life and only Congress can stop it.

Our President has become Chicken Little! He wants to scare people into backing his position on the sequestration settlement. The Democrats always use emotional targets, teachers, first responders, the military and children, when it comes to cuts. This is all about 2014 and President Obama trying to shame the Republicans so the Democrats can retake the House and get a stronger majority in the Senate. He wants to be able to ram through his agenda in his last two years. In the last standoff President Obama got the Republicans to yield and allow tax increases with a promise of future cuts. Now he wants more tax increases. It is time for him and the Democrats to actually act in a bipartisan manner which they demand of the Republicans and truly compromise.

Boehner and his Grand Obstruction Party need to do their jobs and at least look at Obama's proposals. But they won't because they object to protecting the tax loopholes for the corporations like oil and farm subsidies; and loopholes for the wealthy like low tax rates for investment income and loopholes for taxes regarding jets and yachts. There are plenty of loopholes and deductions the wealthy don't need and certainly afford to lose. And there is the whole thing with stashing earnings overseas to avoid U.S. income taxes. This is anti-American to evade paying taxes. These loopholes need to be eliminated.
