Following a closed session meeting yesterday, it was announced that Sarah Carillo is the top pick.

Must be nice to have a closed session to protect interest.
Just not the publics'

I think every election should start with 10 random questions from the naturalization test. Your votes are then weighted based on how many correct answers you get. If you don’t know at least the basics, your vote is not sufficiently informed to be fully weighted. If you want your vote to count full weight, you need to study enough to know the basics.
I also think that common law should weigh heavily.
Wonder if they did any of the above? or was it..how well you can suit OUR interests...
Pimp pimp pimp...

Sarah Carrillo is extremely bright, objective, reliable and professional. She earned that position based on her experience. The County Counsel's office will benefit from her leadership. Congrats Sarah!

Local gal's success is a great story. I wish all our young graduates could get good jobs in their home community.

Good old girls? I love how since the pick is someone local, a vast conspiracy is immediately assumed. Heaven forbid it just be "local woman becomes good attorney and gets job she deserves". But no, that wouldn't allow for spewing inane conspiracy theories that have ZERO proof. And the closed session is used for all positions directly appointed by the board. Don't like the appointments? Get a new supervisor elected from your district.

People need to take their tin foil hats off and realize that not every decision made is the result of some vast conspiracy.

Congrats to Ms. Carrillo and best wishes for leading this office.

Sierrazd...AMEN! I said the same things in my post but the moderator didn't like my choice of words. I even used the words "conspiracy theorists" but it was edited out of my response. It gets tiring to hear people put a negative spin on anything good that someone has achieved.

It's not a conspiracy, this is a public job, the people have a right to know what her background is, How much time does she a in public Govt law, how many court cases has she tried. it ever event going to be farmed out to other law offices. When decisions are made behind closed doors, are we the public suppose to take the Board's word, that she was the best candidate. After all look at the mess they got into believing Pedro and his budget. Its changes with the seasons??

She MIGHT have been the right pick. but I distrust close door ruling..
Some seem to love it though.
They ignore the issue and focus on the feelings....instead of the subject matter itself.
Pfagh!
Pox upon the fool and folderol who enables them.
