20-50 cars sliding around Jamestown, but no actual crashes. That kinda sounds like fun. Is this some sort of new motorsport I should know about?
mcarden   02/19/2013 16:21:24
We have 4 inches in downtown Sonora at 4.20 pm, and it is still coming down!
AngryBird   02/19/2013 16:40:17
Where's County Roads plowing 108 and 49 and Washington? Oh, right. It's 4pm and they have to clock out because they're not allowed to work past 5pm. There are so many cars stuck at the High School, Arco on the Bypass and at Standard waiting for it to be plowed... Silly me for thinking the needs of the county and its residents!

Hey jerky tailgaters. Some people who have 2 wd cars do not need to be tailgated in the 1st snow of the year when they're just trying to get home to their FAMILY. Saw it today on PL Road and wanted to honk at you (and maybe something more). You were 2 ft behind the PT Cruiser after snow sticking to ground. You should know better (deleted, deleted).

I'll agree with AngryBird. Where is everyone. Oh, sure I see plenty of fire trucks out cruising around with 4-6 guys inside. Or, the Cal-Trans trucks stopping and pulling down the "yard sale" signs that are posted on state property that we, the tax payer fund. Oh, and you should see the force in which they do this in. Such anger behind the ripping of the signs. Really, really? Your paid how much to do this? From where I sit this is a regular occurrence. But, we can't get the roads plowed? Or, maybe that's going to be another "fee" we have to come up with.

Took 3 hours to go from Papas' Roost to Whistle Stop. Another hour on Rawhide where there
was abandoned trucks, a trailer, car on its side and about twenty parked cars at the Sherrif Posse
entrance. A lot of cars with low profile tires spinning everywhere but forwad! What a shock considering the spring-like weather weve been having!

Hey angry 108 ,49 , Washington st. are state highways not the county road dept. Responsibility. Once again people commenting when not fully informed

I am at 2500 feet and have 10 inches. If this had been forecast by the local newspaper and radio station, a lot of this misery could have been avoided. Same thing 2 years ago with the storm that we were not warned about.

angrybird... HWY 108 AND 49 ARE NOT COUNTY ROADS . WASHINGTON ST IS A CITY ROAD. ALL CREWS ARE HELD TO HOURS OF SERVICE LAWS. After working normal hours they could have worked till about 8pm but then you would have no one able to sand and plow in the morning. As dry as it has been I am sure all crews are welcoming the overtime.

Ayn, they had been talking about low snow for at least 3 days. Maybe you should just better prepare yourself for winter conditions in FEBRUARY!!!
leaperman621   02/20/2013 12:00:10
This was known DAYS ago...it was just a question of the actual severity..but all the news services said SNOW!
Sheesh.
Ayn   02/20/2013 23:08:49
Just to clarify, every forecast that I read said 1 to 2 inches at my elevation. I am always prepared for whatever might happen, so it didn't affect me. However, those drivers obviously were not prepared for the amount of snow they encountered.
