I think its great that they are here to see if something in columbia is haunted. Nice when a story just appears next to you isn't it?
tuolumnetom   02/16/2013 15:48:19
Interesting...perhaps Columbia might see a boost of visitors in the weeks following the broadcast, but that is probably some months away.

I love it when shows I already watch come to film locally!! Too cool

I lived here for 20 years and haven't heard of any ghosts in the area. Has anyone else ?

Wow the film producers and crew must have been desperate for a place to film some episodes if they came up to TC... poor guys will probably never want to come back after seeing the finest TC has to offer in Columbia. I was in "old town" Columbia a few days ago and the meth heads were out in force.

@ Tuoco
Sure. There was a paranormal investigating crew here last year investigating the building on North Washington where the owner committed suicide after attacking his wife a few years back.
And everyone knows about "Flo" the resident ghost at the National Hotel. (See their website for her story)
I've heard the Willow claims one also.

I believe there is a haunted bed in the old Columbia City Hotel... in Room 1, the 'parlor room' on the right as you face the hotel. The suite of furniture in that room was obtained from the Warden's home of a prison, and it is said that the Warden's wife died in childbirth in that very bed.

In further, it has been said that Sunset Magazine, or some such publication, many years ago did a feature story with photos of the old City Hotel. Photographs were taken in Room 1, because the furniture suite in there is really lovely. There was a ghostly outline on the bed.

Others say that if you spend the night in that room, you will be awakened in the middle of the night by the sensation of someone, or something, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

Tuoco, yes. Sonora Inn is supposed to have a ghost, as is one of the hotels in Jamestown. Can't remember if it's the one that's now closed or one of the others, but one of the hotels right on Main St. I'm sure there are othere, just can't recall now.
Robm   02/18/2013 01:11:05
Tuoco, please tell me you are kidding.

My daughter worked in Columbia for a year and had a few stories to tell about her experiences with paranormal activity.

City Hotel has a woman ghost that walks the halls and stops by the What Cheer saloon occasionally too.
Kapt   02/18/2013 11:53:17
The show "Sightings" did a feature on The Willow some years ago about it's ghosts. According to that show, The Willow is long overdue for a fire of some sort
umoveme   02/20/2013 06:31:38
I see zombies at Wal Mart all the time.

Ever notice how they take the valueable "haunted" items for their "museum"?......Scammers
