California is not done with you yet! Every business in Ca. is now less competitive, every citizen has less to spend, the result; economy in the tank "Brown rot".
henaults   02/11/2013 09:10:34
The simple solution is, (stay home) if demand drops so will prices!

Why yes it is duh..Obamas hidden tax increase to the middle class IS the debt ceiling increases and the Federal Reserve printing phoney paper to cover the spending...THAT is why gasoline will never be at pre election 2008 level ever again. Now that is what forward thinking gets ya....along with the higher price for food and production...Might as well sign over your paycheck and extend your hand for the government allowance due you....We are now officially slaves, so turn in your guns, the republic is dead.

henaults....ummmm,no it wont. Was just a short time ago, they said consumption was down so they needed to raise the price to cover costs....just a big fleece of America and people just say,"It is what it is",some just like to get screwed I guess?

Lets hear it for all of those who Voted for change. What gets me is how many are Proud of the fact. I wonder when all of those who did elect these known over spenders of OUR money. When will they finally realize that they don't have any money either. Thank you for taking care of the entitled and really taking care of the ones whom work the hardest just to break even. I wish I could spend money without consequences for my actions...

As I posted on the other similar article: If you are able to buy and ride a motorcycle or a large type 250cc plus scooter(Honda Silver Wing) and use even less fuel. Nothing wrong with riding in good weather when possible and save the car for only the big trips and you can still carry small amounts of groceries, the mail, go to doctors visits and such. Yes some people must drive their vehicles every single day due to kids and other issues but there are lots of times where a motorcycle or large scooter will get you around any city or country area, save on fuel, time on the road and more. Oh did I mention less maintenance costs too?

You're absolutely right, it is 110% Obama and Brown's fault. The robber baron oil CEO's and insane profit margins have absolutely nothing to do with using any excuse to gouge and raise prices. Neither does the global crude market which is completely outside the control of any individual or country for that matter. Nope, it's definitely the fault of the vast liberal conspiracy.

Keep raising our taxes so we can pay all these inflated salaries government employees make. almost everyone who makes 50k or more works for the government.

Imagine that, gas prices on the rise again. Great economic recover in process I see.
whoknew?   02/11/2013 16:40:30
If we were to cut our consumption in half the gas companies would double the price and make even more money because they wouldn't have to make as much gas but would make the same money. There is no competition between gas companies anymore. We need it we pay whatever they decide to charge. Thats just how simple it is henaults.
sonoraman   02/11/2013 19:37:55
We have to pay for the oil refinery shutdowns so they can fix the refineries and not lose any money, now they make money for maintenance on the equipment to produce gasoline, oil and diesel fuel. Food costs will skyrocket and they will not come down after the gas prices come down.

What I find interesting is that the media (includes MML) does not raise any questions as to the real reason why gas is soaring. You the media, sits back and tells us what we already know. You the media, should be our voice and making real news about this and raising h311! Why not? Why does the media remain nearly silent on the issue? When will you the media, make a case for something this important? When will you start reporting, and or exposing, what is important to us the readers and viewers?

Where are all the liberals that posted here complaining about $1.77 a gallon under Bush ? They were wrong then and as always haven't a clue about the real world.
henaults   02/12/2013 11:13:22
whoknew & mountain man. You can,t tell me that if demand went down 50% for memorial weekend, that prices wouldn,t drop for 4th of july. How about this! 50% of US truckers called in sick for a week. You don,t think corporate america would panic. There is many ways the people could bring oil prices down but we won,t, so I gues I,m just wasting my key board!
