No driver's license. That means no insurance. How about a green card ?
This will cost tax payers in the end. I wonder who he voted for.
No license and no seat belt. Is he a citizen?
Exactly,Is he a US citizen? Or could he be one of the millions of people that are in OUR country illegally?
No license, no seat belt, probably no insurance. Most likely illegal. I am very sorry he was hurt. I hope for his complete recovery. We the taxpayers will be paying for all of the medical costs, ambulance, towing, etc. That will probably be in the high end of 5 figures. Can we subtract that from the millions/billions we send to Mexico in foreign aid?
No seat-belt and no license.
when roads are wet, you drive slower. (sadly, half the drivers in this county would lose their license if that was a test they had to pass)
I second what sesroh said and also wish Mr. Ramirez a full recovery.
I wonder if the guy's name had been Joe Smith, whether you would be asking the same questions. Lots of citizens drive without a license, also.
WOW!!!! Citizen or not that is still someones son, brother, uncle...this is a human being someones loved one and most of you are only concerned if he is legal rather than worry about how he is. My prayers and thoughts are with his family. And hope that he has a speedy recovery.
Seat belts aren't required in Tuolumne County, my brother has gotten three seatbelt tickets and the same judge threw all of them out-makes me sick. I know I will be going to his funeral someday or worse he will kill somebody when he is not able to maintain control of his vehicle because he was thrown into the passenger seat when he swerves to miss a deer!
Is there something wrong with you people? I could understand the tax payer part, but he is still a person. And yes, he IS a citizen.!! I know somebody that knows him and he is.. I guess he is not doing to good. Prayers go out to him and his family. Have more compassion
Geez people...just because he has a hispanic last name doesn't make him an obvious illegal...talk about profiling! My kids have a hispanic name...they were born and raised in California...along with their dad! I am embarassed to live in the same area as such closed minded people! Thank goodness for the people who care and are wishing him well.
Chances are if his name was Joe Smith he would have a license. And chances are if he's Mexican and is driving without a license, he's probably here illegally. That's not racism. It's a fact. And it's not wrong to be upset that our tax dollars are paying his medical bills.
Yeah Crockett, sesroh, Anonso, Wldbill40, rider
He didn't have a license... I bet he was an environmentalist and a gun control freak too! And obviously on welfare! He didn't have a seatbelt on, so he must have voted for Obama! You guys are demented and pathetic. You make me sick. I wish him a full recovery and will be praying for him and his family.
The truck wasn't his. He decided to take it without the owners permission. And unfortunately previous commenters were correct in there " illegal immigrant" assumptions. I hope this article is updated after the police report is filed.
There are people here that are immigrants that are here legally that pay taxes and work harder then some of the citizens.
Pretty ugly comments here from this community. The young man suffered some pretty serious injuries.
The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
I hope he recovers, but I RESENT the fact that:
1. The person broke the Law coming here.
2. The person broke the law stealing the vehicle.
3. That's OK with some people. You KNOW who I am talking about.
4. That we have to pay with OUR sweat for this guy's medical bills.
And charity only goe's so far, and NO FURTHER.
You want to take care of him..then YOU pay for him.
As far as I am concerned...one should pay taxes on what one wants to support, and that't IT.
Lets see the liberals fund there agenda then...OH! They can't, even with EVERYONE's Money.
FAiled State, Failed Morality, Failed Govt.
@votetheconstitution - if it turns out that he is in fact an illegal immigrant, then no, what you said would not be racism, but that fact remains to be determined. Jumping to that conclusion solely based on the facts presented in the article, namely that he was not carrying a license and that his name was Ramirez, definitely is racist. There are lots of people in this county with Hispanic surnames, who have been in the country a long time and are perfectly legal. And why would you assume he is "Mexican", as opposed to being from El Salvador, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama or anywhere else down south? Do you think it is ok to lump people from all these countries together and refer to them as "Mexicans"? At least have a bit of respect.
Citizen or not he did not have a license. Wasn't wearing a seat belt. Was driving too fast for conditions. Doesn't have insurance. WE the taxpayers will foot the bill for his recovery. He obviosly didn't care much for his own safety but we are supposed to feel compasion? Hmmmm
He is a citizen!
