Take note California politicians this is the reality of the business climate created by over taxation and regulation. Don't be surprised when tax revenues are down because business moved out of California. This will create an opportunity for thrift stores to resell items people leave behind.

FINALLY!!! Someone who see's the obvious and is ready to capitalize on the situation. Here's an opportunity for businesses to relocate and not go broke at the same time!

In Texas, you can get building permits for a new fast-food restaurant in about 6 weeks, according to a WSJ article last year. In some parts of California, those same permits can take up to two years.

I love it, its a vicious cycle, more people and business leave for better economic climates and CA just looks around and says, "hey, lets raise taxes again..."

Last week Perry also proposed returning money to the people of TX becuase the state was running surplus, Anyone want to guess when Moonbeam Brown and the spend happy liberals will be returning money to CA taxpayers?

When H-E double hockey stick freezes......

Keep working hard people, there are millions of people on welfare depending on your tax dollars.

Look at the businesses that have already left the state! It would be remarkably ignorant for the govenor to deny that businesses are jumping ship all the time. Shoot, I'm a native Californian, not a business man, but I've been looking to leave for a couple years now. Still trying!!!

We have no one to blame except are self's. It's pretty bad when a brain dead governor like Perry who's state has people working and he's trying to get more for his state. Duh no wonder they elected him. Gee we even voted to raise taxes. Shows how dumb we are in this state.
WileyCoyote   02/05/2013 15:17:37
No surprise on this one. Several other states are looking to do away with their state income taxes to attract businesses and jobs. I wonder if they are doing it because it works???

The ship is sinking. Time to abandon it and move to a better place.

I have lived in California all my life but visited Texas last summer (not the best time) but building going on everywhere. The folks are polite, gas prices were 50 cents cheaper a gallon, better roads, lots of employment opportunities, and comparable wages. Plus it's not over-regulated.

Hopefully not too many Californians will move there and Make the Texans as mad as the Oregonians. They didn't like us messing up there State.

The best part of Texas is, the residents do NOT get punished for living there.

California has so much to offer (except education) but at a price. Very sad.

I've been to Texas twice, the first time was good enough for a life time. However I liked texarkan area a lot. But If you you like dry weather and heat I would recommend it. I meet some of the nicest people ever in Texas.

I own a business and here's the reality: My employees want to work 4x 10 hour days, same hours/wk, 20% less commute costs and a 3 day weekend every week. In CA it's illegal, must pay OT after 8 hrs/day. In TX- workers comp insurance is optional. In CA, if the injury is 1% work related you pay for the employee to take an 8-10 month vacation. Then you must hire them back at the same job and wage, you get to pay about $400/mo per employee for this program. I know of several large companies in my industry that have moved there and Arizona. Too many Progressives here that vote themselves access to both the public & private treasury. I was born and raised in CA, but I doubt I'll retire here.
