That is just disgusting My heart goes out to the mother as well as the rest of the family.
So incredibly tragic.
Please everyone, wake up! The NRA does its best to hide the statistics that show that a gun in the home is much more likely to kill a family member or friend, than an intruder.
My heart goes out to the surviving family members.
Please don't give any more information on this. Have some compassion. You should stop your reporting on this now. This is not news. This is a tragedy
My heart goes out to the mom. If I could take some of your pain I would.
This just breaks your heart......Please seek help, if you have this train of thought. There are many avenues to go down and get help.
Do not turn this into an NRA vs. non-NRA issue vs gun rights issue. There are numerous other forums or topics even on MML about this issue if you want to go there. Do not use this tragedy to tell people to "wake up". Please respect the family and the friends of everyone affected by this. This was a horrible tragedy carried out by a person who obviously could have used help.
Thank you NTGUILD, I completely agree with you. This isn't news, this is a family tragedy. You've given the public enough, please for the sake of their mother let this just be. My son passed away when I lived in that area and you left our family alone, now do it for her.
It's very easy for people to jump and blame. Sometime you should sit back and think about your situation and what could have triggered this. Teens in a broken family and lost jobs, just life in this economy. I think it's an amount of stress you can take until you can't take any more. I feel sorry for all involved because I can't make judgement on my thinking of what happened. We may never know but I think in general people that make judgement on an instant are very simple people or people that don't see the stress that this type of person must have felt. Maybe we should hear more of the out come of the investigations that we don't hear. There is always a trigger that gets pushed and I think as caring people we need to take note of our surroundings and then make a move to help.
sierra14 look at the government and your media about hiding stats. please dont come on here and try to condemn the NRA on a tragedy such as this. At least show some class and respect if u can..
Thoughts and prayers go out the the family and all who knew them.
Lets not make this into a gun control issue, instead we need to pray for all involved.
we don't know the circumstances, we shouldn't project here.
this is a heartbreaking tragedy and a sad sad day.
i think the point of guns being in the home is a valid one, but what i think needs to be said even more here is that as a nation we need to stop making mental illness of any kind ANY sort of stigma or weakness...and then if people actually SEEK help, It needs to be readily available and worth getting.
our mental health system has been gutted and it is not all that easy to get helpf really.
S14 - it wasn't the gun, it was the guy. A knife, bat or brick would have been just as fatal. And this is really the wrong venue for that discussion.
sierra14 - Quit the anti NRA bashing! This is a perfect example of why we, as a country, need to seriously address mental health and implement new programs to help people like this man work through their problems so tragedies like this can be avoided. This is not a political issue it's a human issue.
@ fruity pebbles - I agree. Very sad, our mental health programs have a certain stigma to them and people don't seek out help because of the lack of availability, the lack of help in general and the label that gets attached to someone who does seek help. This man obviously had some major issues and didn't or couldn't seek the help that would probably have helped him and his children. People need to realize that seeking the help you need is not a bad thing to do and they need to stop attaching labels to the people that get the needed help.
An immense tragedy! No judgement or pointing fingers, just sadness for an extremely unnecessary situation. Thank you, remington and lala...well said. Thoughts and prayers for the family left to grieve and wonder why....
If you have exhausted all options and taking your life is the only path you can find then that's between you and your maker; walk off into the woods and do what you need to do, alone and away from others. There is no justification for taking your kids life, a school bus driver or some other person with you.
If you are in such despair and death is the only way out be "humane" enough to do it alone without killing others in the process.
Prayers to that mother, she will need them.
Along with everyone else, my thoughts and prayers to the mom, family and the friends of these kids. I expected gun control to come up, but more people in America are killed with other weapons and if the gun were absent something else would have been used. I second what Fruity Pebbles said about mental illness.
IT just doesn't add up. So tragic.
this is very heart breaking.
I agree with NTGUILD.
This is a sad, sad story, but there has to be more to it. Google the fathers name and you can see the books he wrote about "government secrets." I don't think anyone will ever know the full truth on the situation. Prayers for all the family and friends they had.
Only God and The Son know what truly happened and let no man of this world judge this man in this instance but leave all of that for The Father and The Son on That Day before The Throne of The Father and The Son "for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God". Pray for the rest of the family, their friends and extended friends. Remember the good times you shared with them and put away ANY bad times from your heart and your spirit. There is a time under the sun for all things and everything in it's time. May the Grace of The Father which shines through The Son bestow peace upon the family, friends and extended family at this time and in the future. Their loss is great and nobody posting here can feel their true pain but The Father and His Son alone in Heaven. Peace and much love, honor and respect for the family, friends and extended family that have been left behind to mourn.
Sierra , Please don't be like Politicians and Liberals and take advantage of this opportunity to turn a Tragedy into a gun control issue !!!
Well said WHOKNEW,well said....
dlewis, Lets not profile people as mentally ill because they are politically incorrect. Powerful people and government do conspire an cover things up, and I don't fault anyone who doesn't buy the official storyline about anything. This man just snapped, probably schizophrenia. Lets not label people we disagree with as crazy.
