Why should it surprise us that the person who is supposed to know legal from illegal, thinks gun ban is good??? Just another government paid idiot at the helm! MAYBE ALL THE LIBERALS WILL MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY WHEN THEIR GUN BAN FAILS?

It looks like Californians are voting with their wallets. Politicians don't seem to understand that they are not representing the interests of good citizens.
Lbrambl   01/26/2013 11:46:25
It's a grave mistake to think people are only stocking up in case of a gun ban. Many see the Blue and Red as such a dividing force they are stocking up for a fight. Many sheriffs have publicly stated they will not enforce any gun law that violates the 2nd amendment. Sound family, it should this division has happened in history many times and never with a good outcome.

lets trust the fed gov who sold the same weapons to the Mexican drug cartels, that have now been found in the deaths of hundreds of Mexicans, and a few Americans!!! Because they know what is best right? ( rep Frankenstein has a concealed weapon of her own mind you) The bill exempts congress, and other fed orgs just like the Obama care bill! Do you guys know that congress is not going to have to adhere to any of that ? they have their own health care system. so ya lets trust the morons in power, who have armed guards at their schools, work and play areas......but its not good enough for us.

Well said, Ms. Youngman.

All of this hoopla is created to increase gun sales, that's all. The Supreme Court has made it clear that reasonable limitations on the 2nd Amendment are allowed. The debate is where to draw the line, no more.

Too many people have allowed their guns to define them as a person and need to free themselves of the affliction.

However, there is a solution that meets the demands of both sides of this debate;
Make it illegal to own a gun that is not painted hot pink or fluorescent yellow. There would be no other limitation on ownership. The romance will soon fade and guns will be only a tool necessary for defense. And for hunters, maybe they will decide to go mano-a-mano with the wildlife instead of playing a Cheney.

Sad state of affairs on whats going on here. The 2nd Adendment coming under attack. Your rights are secretly being attacked and most of you have no clue. The Constitutional is being made a Mockery of by the Dems and Libs. Why are our elected officials swarn to protect the Constitution, burying their heads in the sand. And last but not least we have a President in the last 3 1/2 years has issued 923 Presidential Exectutive Orders. America was originally formed on the concept of checks and balances. Without Checks and Balances Tyranny is staring you right in the face. Wake up America......Look back in history no further the the 1930's. Ask what surviver's are still around what it was like when everything was taken from them. One man and his henchmen is how that started.

As always, DiFI is most interested in the non-essentials vs. anything substantive to fix what SHE, and her Libtard cohorts in crime, perceive to be a problem.
It LOOKS military so it must be an "assault" weapon?

I wonder if she could explain what a "non-assault" weapon actually is?
Does that same assault weapon, become a defense weapon when one of the AB109 rejects breaks in my front door? And would that require a reclassification form to be filled out for DiFi? (before a shot is actually fired from the now classified defense weapon)

Tyranny by government fiat is the last refuge of those in the New American Aristocracy (CONgress) to control those of us who refuse to grovel at their feet for the crumbs of sustenance they allow us to have. Keep It Dry, you're likely to need it.
thegiantkahuna   01/26/2013 15:26:54
So WHY did California elect these anti-Constitutional Democrats?

Didnt each and every Democrats in office take an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution?
JRC   01/26/2013 17:36:20
The AG's story is just as irrelevant as dianes. You guys can drink your own koolaide
Kapt   01/26/2013 18:01:00
"Senator Feinstein's renewed call to reactivate the federal assault weapons ban and to ban high-capacity magazines is in the best interest of public safety. These weapons of war are too often used to take innocent lives and do not belong on our streets."

Us law abiding citizens don't take our guns out on our streets. It's the non law abiding citizens that do. You know, the ones that aren't going to pay ANY attention to a gun ban. Why can't these elected officials see that? Oh I know, they're sheltered by their armed guards wherever they go and don't really know what's going on in the real world
DoubleD   01/26/2013 19:17:45
incremental bans tend to silence enough people to allow these restrictions. Just as Hitler came for one group at a time. The time line for total government takeover is a slow process with an endgame of seizing All property then allowing you an very small portion for your existence. Remember the rights you allow government to take away from one group will eventually be used to take away the rights YOU cherish...

923 executive orders? Really? Please check your facts!

First let me say the as a part time resident I rarely involve myself in these debates. However, as one that enjoys the freedom of living here partime one of the things I have always treasured is the ability to enjoy shooting sports, in the field, at candy rock quary, and on my own property where I have a small arms range, which does meet all NRA, local and state requirements. And in the interest of full disclosure I am a mamber of the NRA. Second. In reading most of the posts on this subject, I see thet many people are upset with a government run amuck, as am I. However, When we reduce the debate to political retoric and name calling it deminishes the point we make and otherwise interested people turn away and don't here od see the facts. All that is on display is anger. (See next Post)

Yes Mrs. Feinstine and her friends are wrond and misrepresenting the facts. This has long been the practice of the anti-gun lobby. ANy reputable firearms manufacturer will tell you there is no such thing as, nor do they produce an "Assult Weapon". This is a term that was coined buy the anti-gun left during the original ban, to describe "These scary, Military looking rifles. The fact is that these arenot the same as those used by first responders, or the military. They are cosmetically the same for the purposes of allowing attachments, like flash lights, scopes, etc. and they provide a lighter more stable shooting platform for competetive and recreational shooting. The fact is that what Mrs. Feinstine wants to ban are cosmetic enhancements that have no effect on the way a gun shoots, (next)
PTPhlatlunder   01/27/2013 10:05:22
The things Mrs. Feinstine proposes to ban have no direct affect on the sction of the rifle. That is to say ho the action chambers and fires a round of a certain caliber. Under her proposal a pump action shotgun with a pistol grip is illegal. A pump action shotgun is not. An AR15 that fires a .223/5.56 NATO round is iliegal, my bolt action Savage Stevens which fires the same round is not. She has freely admitted that when she made the decision on what weapons she wanted to ban, "I and my staff looked at a lot of pictures.". It's a feel good thing. Let's bann the "Scary rifle" and everyone will feel better. Ife we start banning things that are scary, I have a lot of ugly relatives that are going to have to leave the country. (next)
PTPhlatlunder   01/27/2013 10:17:00
These are not fully automatic weapons. Fully automatic weapons have always been illegal in the U.S. Thease are semi-automatic, which means, much like the double action, cowboy six shooter, it fires a bullet every time you pull the trigger. Unlike the six shooter thes semi-automatic weapons do not use a rotating cylinder to put another round in the chamber under the firing pin, the use a clip that employs a spring to move the next round in place. Yes, a clip holds more bullets, 10 in california, 7 in New York, but a man with a 6 shot revolver and a speed loader can get off 12 shots in almost as much time as a man with a 10 shot clip. The original "Assult Weapons" ban was discontinued becaoue the U.S. DOJ determined that it had no affect on the murder/gun crime rate in the U.S. (next)

And WHINESTEIN in lockstep
JRC   01/27/2013 12:32:06
Of IMPORTANT NOTE is that diane and the AG already have comprehensive law and laws on the books Roberti-Roos Asssult Weapon Control Act(1989,2000,2001,2004, Bill Lockyer AG) limiting and restricting "so-called assault weapons". Please take the time to review this webpage http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/dwcl/12275.php. You'll see that all this outcry for new laws has already been placed into laws that only impedes the ownership to law abiding/tax paying citizens. If your unable to understand that these laws are already on the books and that further restrictions only endanger our Constitutional freedoms, you're a lost cause for our rights and freedoms. May God and our fore fathers have mercy on your souls.

Is anybody paying attention? Isn't this one of the first things Stalin, Hitler and Mao did right before enslaving their own people. Oh, it can't happen here? Does anybody besides ME notice the blatant frontal attacks on our U.S. Constitution over the past 4 years? Many people of Faith are being forced by O'bummer to violate their most basic beliefs or be severely punished. That's the 1st Amendment. Now it's the 2nd Amendment. Next will be the 22nd Amendment. Does anyone remember that one? That's the one that limits any person from serving more than two terms as President of the U.S. If the Liberals get control of the whole government, that's exactly what will happen. We are being concurred from within. All of us will be made to serve the Government! Please, someone prove me wrong!
Cleareye   01/27/2013 16:02:55
The NRA hysteria is driven by lies and emotional appeals to people unable to see the truth of this debate. No one wants to confiscate guns, no one wants to disarm anyone trying to protect themselves, no one wants to eliminate the NRA, but 90% of Americans want to be sure about who is allowed to buy guns. The fact that criminals get their hands on guns is due mainly to the vast number of guns in existence with thousands of new ones hitting the streets everyday. Few gun owners would be willing to guarantee they would not allow a criminal to access their guns under some penalty. The criminals don't make guns, they steal them from NRA members and others that don't respect the dangers of owning guns.
