Unions Can Picket

What a great country this is, that a union (socialist organization) can be given 'rights' greater than those afforded to the average citizen. I'm really impressed.
squirter   12/28/2012 14:42:24
this is a good decision for unions. Shoppers should know how stores are trying to take away wages and benefits from workers all for the sake of making higher profits for the wealthy corporate owners. It's all about greed and taking away what little benefits workers get. It's hard working employees that make profits for the wealthy and corporate stockholders. They should be rewarded not punished for their hard work which enriches companies.

Private property and the constitution takes second place with Democrats when it comes to their Union supporters. If I'm driving by and see these thugs picketing a job creator I'll stop, go in and buy something.
JRC   12/28/2012 19:31:41
@squirter - Seriously?!? Your going to walk past a private business being picketed by organized unions? Those same unions that closed down the Hostess Twinkie Factory and the Campbells Soup Plant in Sacramento? Because they are too greedy to simply reduce their rules and benefits package's? Unions empower those that don't want to work, to a full paycheck and wages. And place the financial burden upon the business owner. Who didn't open the business to simply employe people, but to make money and rise above the rest.

Unions, the solution for workers too dumb to negotiate their own employment contracts.
imjustsayin   12/28/2012 21:10:14
Hey Squirter, the greed is all on the union side. They were once great organizations, now they have become what they claim to hate....Fat, greedy and lazy making a living off other people's time and effort.
SierraMatt   12/28/2012 22:09:51
Nice to know that the draconian unions still have greater power than an individual. I repeat myself. The time for unions left in the 1960's. I will always be able to look out for my best interests better than a union.
Robm   12/28/2012 22:41:15
It is so past time to get rid of unions.
ling   12/29/2012 04:38:17
I will make sure that when I toss my garbage to the curb it won't be conatained.

You are right squirter, UNIONS were created to protect the workers. If you don't like unions, move to China.
thrinnskaar   12/29/2012 09:57:59
@grey, you have the "exact same rights" already. Don't understand why you think they are "greater?"
rightwinger   12/29/2012 15:03:02
squiter...they are rewarded... with what is called a JOB!!! First who had the idea to create that store....then who had the capital to open that store...who took the risk...not the worker...the owner and financier...and yes the stockholder.... Businesses are not created to give someone a job, they are created because the public wants the goods and services they create or produce....these risk takers and creators of that business deserve to make money and lots of it...that is why they opened the business to make MONEY....It is called Capitalism!! Socialists forget these things as they all want the free stuff and have this entitlement mentality... this is not a communist country YET... it takes capital and risk takers to build businesses first a foremost.
skunkhammer   12/29/2012 15:59:16
Squirter, you are absolutely right. I think people who are against unions should have to work for wal-mart! Wal-mart being as corporatist (not capitalist)as is possible.

People should do some research before you make uninformed comments. In my opinion, regurgitating Rush Limbaugh on the forums only causes you to lose credibility. Labor Unions have played a huge role in the evolution of the modern day work environment. I don't know what you do for a living (or if you do anything for a living), but chances are that you have benefited from the progress of labor unions in some way. I could go on, but I don't have the time or energy.
Crockett   12/31/2012 10:49:19
A typical union auto worker = a line production job a school dropout can be trained to do in 15 minutes, makes a combined ( wage and benefits ) $65. an hour. Good for the union worker and bad for the rest of us, almost triple the earnings of the average private sector worker.

@rightwinger: You have stated the truth eloquently and correctly! As far as labor laws are concerned, the unions are antiquated and are no longer necessary. Union employees are known to be largely lazy, slow and disloyal to the company because of the "us against the corporate greedy", which is a lie that the Union must consistently propagate to glean their dues from the worker. "Corporate greed"...anyone check the annual "steal" of the top ten Union bosses? They're in the millions per year. Yeah, Unions laugh all the way to the bank at the "stupid union employee." Without unions, productivity, customer service, company loyalty, job satisfaction would increase by large margin and the cost of goods sold would go down. We no longer need unions. Abolish them.

I'm with Crockett. If I see the Union thieves/thugs outside picketing a company, I will march right in, buy, and thank the scab workers for doing a great job! I have zero tolerance for any disgruntled, thankless, ungrateful, disloyal, lazy, mean spirited, hateful person who didn't put in any effort, blood, sweat, tears, sleepless nights, to start that business.
steady   12/31/2012 13:49:04
@Sux2bu: The "name" is teenybopper, but I digress. Unions have played a huge role in the evolution of the modern day work environment. They have empowered the lazy, raised the salaries of the disloyal, benefited the bad attitudes, decreased productivity, wasted enormous amounts of energy and time from the employer, decreased efficiency, abolished individualism and originality. They are responsible for losing more jobs than they save due to layoffs, etc. This would be due to the bloated costs of wages and salaries for people who don't qualify. I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, so consider this from someone who's very informed. I would also suggest that you research the annual salaries of the union bosses and then you may change your high, pitch tune.

My Brother in Law was a union ironworker, 40 years on the job, his retirement is 7000.00 a month. when he goes, his wife get till she dies. So when you drive by the Sonora by pass, just think you are paying for his retirement thru state and federal funds.

At one time in our history, unions were necessary to give a worker rights to protect their safety and provide some job security. Today, many safety regulations and employment laws are in effect to provide protection to employees. Today unions “bargain” at the end of each contract and ALWAYS want more….this has to stop. Everyone in every job does not deserve a “living wage”. An individual must educate themselves and work towards these jobs. There is plenty of work out there, true much is part time, but if one job does not make enough money one must work two. Yes, this effects one’s free time and social circle but tough. Educate yourself and work for the job you want.

I'm with those who march by the picketers and shop at the store. I won't be a part of blackmail, something that would be illegal if not organized by a union. I did walk past some picketers at a grocery store in LA once. They tried to physically prevent me from going in. Those women were really, really angry. I had to threaten assault charges to get these broads to back off. If they want more money, they should find a job which pays more money and gives better benefits.
