Who are these 79 individuals and how much did the pardons cost?
joesmith   12/26/2012 11:00:50
They took it from your unemployement check!

It would not be appropriate to post the names of the 79, but I do not think there is cost. I believe that a pardon just returns some of their individual rights as a citizen before incarceration.

It would be very appropriate. Try a full list of the pardons Gov. Brown gave out can be found here- http://gov.ca.gov/docs/Pardon.pdf (WARNING: It is 33mb file). Took me 35 seconds to find it.

Why sit in the dark in the day and age of the internet when the information is so readily available?

Who knows or wants to know who these people are? What would someone do with that information? My take is since they served their time AND they appear to have learned their lesson, welcome them back to society. One friend of mine, way back when, before "Three Strikes," had 42 felonies at last count. That was 40 years ago. But then he met the love of his life which changed everything. He had 3 kids of his own, in addition to fostering dozens of other kids. He became a deacon in his church, heading many fund raising functions throughout the years. He petitioned to have his record expunged and it was granted without delay. Let's take advantage of those who truly want to contribute to society. Unfortunately, This has potential for abuse.

Seawolf68, How many felonies should someone be allowed ? I'm glad your friend achieved so much but I wonder if he compensated his 42+ victims including the payers for their losses?

If you do not care to know who these people are, you trust your govermment officials....I do not trust them, i want to check for abuse of power.
