Thank you to our local law enforcement for taking time away from their family during the holidays to keep us safe!

Whenever I have been stopped by the CHP....I was not happy but have to admit I deserved it and they were always proffessional and fair. I am over 60 and during my years of driving have been stopped plenty of times!!

If they get one drunk off the road they did their job. I was single when I was in LE, I use to trade shifts or day off with the married guys with kids so they could spend the holiday together with their families. Or I would go in and relieve them for a few hours so they could at least have dinner at home.

Yes, this is good. The CHP stopping accidents is good.

However, I'd love to see the CHP or someone initiate some kind of driving/public transport plan. Cabs are SO expensive. They gouge. Many young folks come home for holidays.

Many elderly people justifiably don't want to drive in weather conditions, BUT they still need food, etc.

Public transport? Be a DD? Offer to run errands for your elderly neighbor?

I suppose churches could help too.

Was up the hill today and glad to see them up there! Wondering why in Tahoe if there's chain control they check each car before letting them through....seeing as people ignore chain control on 108. Can they do that here???? Seems like it would cost money but save $$ too on wreck clean up and traffic control and what not
