Boy i am glad we have such competent people protecting ourselves from ourselves, just fine us so we can compensate the fire department and they can continue on their very important duties????

Hey Redline, why are you so negative? All this article was, was a friendly reminder about city ordinances and holiday safety. With the comment that you made about continuing on with their "important duties" I am pretty sure that you have never walked in a firefighter's shoes. I think that it's pretty important that they show up to a house to extinguish a fire because somebody takes poor care of their Christmas tree which could result in a catastrophe. As they go inside to extinguish a house fire as everybody else runs out. Granted they don't do this everyday, but I can guarantee that the time they spend when they are not running calls is spent training for those specific situations when someone's house is on fire, or someone needs to be cut out of a car after a vehicle accident

Unlike most california sheeples I don't need or want your great fire department to save me. My Christmas present from cal fire was $150 new fire tax, being property owner in Touloumne I have already paid more then they are worth to me. Best think they ever did for me was make me engineer my driveway so the clowns could get there!! Go pick up your check at the local fire hall, that's one of the many places where all my hard earned taxes get wasted??? Guess if your a liberal you need warned about fire!

@redline - I hope you never have to call the fire dept to save you - as your storyline might then be different.
