Yep, those headline-grabbing accusations will distract from his money laundering legal woes.

The socialist majority in Kalifornia have spoken, 4 years to retirement and I cannot wait to relocate....
To a Republic state....
Kapt   12/10/2012 13:10:33
Tighter gun restrictions make about as much since as trying to reduce drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to buy cars
shiner   12/10/2012 13:40:51
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up
and exterminated.Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
shiner   12/10/2012 13:42:14
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED.

When Barabra Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, Rick Perry, and the rest of politicians, plus Rosie O'Donnel stop carrying concealed weapons, I might consider doing the same. Until then, not gonna happen
TypicalGirl   12/10/2012 15:15:10
Blah blah blah...more Republican paranoia - the same song they've been singing for the last 4 years, despite there being *less* restrictions on firearms in Obama's term than in Saint Reagan's.

if ya can't win 'em over with policy and effectiveness, scare 'em over with rhetoric and NRA sound bites.
mtnmac   12/10/2012 15:45:10
Excellent point shiner,we'll said, too all you socialist spendocrats, and I believe I speak for a lot of gun owners like myself," FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGERS!!!!"
JRC   12/10/2012 17:53:04
The uber-liberals are too educated to listen to history. They're too busy worrying about giving up their liberties in favor of safety. They're also the first to call for your disarmament, but it's OK for them to carry concealed ... And in this story they dismiss Berryhill's remarks simply due to his personal problems. The dims are dismantling this country, one amendment at a time.
my2cents   12/10/2012 18:00:54
Kapt, shiner, thank you. Don't even talk to me about taking my guns.
Crockett   12/10/2012 18:15:34
UberPest, wrong subject, we already did that one last week.
If he is guilty I wouldn't want him negotiating my constitutional rights with his anti-second amendment accusers.
He needs to define "too far reaching".

I'm with the majority here against extracting from the teeth of our State and U.S. Constitution.
I'm up for gang control as they cause the vast majority of mayhem.

Send the entire state police to one liberal enclave at a time starting with Modesto. Then send them to Stockton, Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond and anywhere else that is gang infested. That's a control I could support.

Millions and millions of State and Federal tax dollars are poured into these failed and crime infested communities led by Democrats and cost us all in security and the 53% that pay taxes.
Traditionalist   12/10/2012 19:50:58
The Democrats and "moderates" want to take our guns and turn us into bike-riding communists. God granted us all the right to bear arms, any attempt to bring about "gun control" is merely an insidious plot by un-American socialists.

Frankly, I don't care much for Berryhill's statement about trying to work with "moderates". He needs to make it crystal clear that we won't compromise when it comes to our conservative values.

Even though the moderates haven't actually proposed any new gun legislation, don't you think for a second that they're not plotting and scheming about how to take our rights away.
leaperman621   12/10/2012 22:23:46
Berryhill is not a conservative. He is a get alected.
Gun laws?
Do laws stop the criminals??
No..they stop legitimate people from protecting themselves.
I smell something ROTTEN.
UberPest   12/10/2012 23:06:12
Shiner, your posts are plagiarized material dating from at least 2004. Give credit where credit is due, no matter what the content.

The Japanese were terrified of US civilians?! Got reliable evidence proving that?

Soviets under Stalin, Ottoman Empire, Nazi Germany, the list goes on. Do some historical research. 56 million people died because of gun control? That’s giving credit where it’s NOT due.

“This history lesson,” is from some frightened little gun advocate and perpetuated by others passing it along as factual cause/effect. What’s disgusting is the original author using ethnic cleansing, other heinous atrocities and fear mongering to further his own petty desires. Before plagiarizing do some research into other sources or you might look silly too.
natemoto   12/11/2012 07:02:43
High five shiner!
remington   12/11/2012 07:11:08
shiner i spoke with my grandfather a couple days ago and he spoke about the same thing in your comments.. so true..
The Lorax   12/11/2012 08:07:27
It's no wonder some folks have so many guns - they're paranoid. If Berryhill had a genuine concern I'm sure he would have cited some specific threats to gun rights in the Senate. This is simply devisive playground-style politics and not the kind of leadership that will get us anywhere. Throw the bum out.
wethehonestppl   12/11/2012 09:03:58
Yep! Copy, Lorax. What Berryhill(s) should maybe concerned about is learning about learning what it is to tell a lie, and maybe some basic arithmetic.

I sure hope we get a follow up article!
Bert   12/11/2012 13:04:59
While disarming citizens and mass extermination may not be a cause and effect relationship, no sane person could argue that it would have been more difficult to kill all of those people had they been armed. I don't consider "it will never happen here" to be a legitimate conclusion gleaned from the last 200 years of history.

Nobody seems to be arguing Kapt's poignant post, either. I suppose it is best to just leave logic out of this, huh?
o-no-bigguy   12/11/2012 14:06:03
How does he justify gun control, when our Gov't was selling guns to the cartels??
Crockett   12/12/2012 09:18:22
The lone significant legislation related to gun rights by Reagan was the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986. Signed into law by Saint Reagan on May 19, 86.
Saying the that “the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms must not be infringed if liberty in America is to survive.”
The law included the 11th hour Hughes amendment banning ownership of any fully automatic firearms not registered by May 19, 86.
Reagan quote : The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed.
Kapt   12/12/2012 10:34:51
Something wrong with my post Bert? Lack of logic? Please explain
Crockett   12/12/2012 14:59:38
Woops, looks like another pierced up liberal wacko goes on a shooting spree in Oregon. Time and again these liberal wack jobs go off the deep end. Obama calls Conservatives the enemy, bring a gun to the fight, and put right to lifers, bible believers and war veterans on the terror list. Now a liberal Senator calls for blood on the new right to work law and liberal union thugs attack conservative newsman with impunity. I'm keeping my guns until all the liberals are sent to China where they belong !
wethehonestppl   12/12/2012 21:19:00
PS high 5 Uberpest. Thanks
