Maybe they were just taking care of a mountain lion...

I shouldn't joke. I really can't think of a good reason to discharge a firearm in that area. I'm hoping it was someone playing paintball on top of the hill. I have also seen a couple of guys walking a dog up and down Washington Street in full camouflage. I remember thinking it was strange, because I had seen them a few days in a row wearing the same outfits. They had pony tails, so I don't think they worked at the recruiting office.

the union democrats quotes the reporting teacher "stepped away from her classroom" and saw this? After all this rain, only deer tracks were spotted where she claims she saw a camo-dressed man w/a rifle firing rounds? Why was she outside her classroom, anyways? Glad it all turned out okay..

Lots of people in rural areas have guns. City people think if a shot is fired, someone has gone bonkers. Not the case 99% of the time in this county, but the crazies are multiplying, so better safe than sorry.

kids were on their recess when shooting went off... I have children who goes there and one of my kids heard shooting as well.... Teachers were out watching kids during recess.

That's only a little strip of land between them..and it's at a 45 degree angle in brush. No one hunts there. As a kid in the 70's I used to take that as a shortcut home. As I said....NO ONE hunts there.
If there WAS someone there with a gun, then that person needs to be apprehended ASAP.

Sounds to me like some anti gun teacher.. There is a legal shooting range not far from there..I think the range called the police and said they were exercising their 2nd amendment rights. We live about 1200 feet above them and hear the shooting..big deal..As far as being reported by a GRAMMER school teacher..Big whup! Most modern grammer school teachers cannot even conjugate a sentence correctly.

If we are speculating (we are), it COULD be a nutjob teacher trying to justify keeping....Wild imaginations like crying, "Wolf! Wolf!".
I actually HOPE it is.
Better that than some nut with a gun.
