One final question - will the chicken be allowed to cross the road?

Hope this includes guinea hens - they keep the tick population real low.

Depends on the reasons for crossing in the past, right?

Guinea hens are wonderful watch dogs and they don't bark all day and night and good eaten to.......

I would much rather see a roaming chicken than a roaming cat.

Guinea hens are also WAY louder and more annoying then chickens too! Hey, it'll drown out all the dogs barking at least.

Hens are fine in a City environment if caged and tended properly. You do not need Roosters to have Eggs. Look at other articles via any search engine on Urban Chickens.

Hens without roosters do fairly well, but they also seem to get more aggressive with each other. They also do well just being able to walk around in the yard for a few hours a day, so they can stretch their legs and flap around a bit.
