I'm just going to say it one last time then I have lost my fight. Why? Why are we spending money on * like this when there are more important things to worry about. How about all of the homes that were lost to the bypass? Not houses, but homes lived in by families. This is a sheer waste of taxpayers dollars and I'd like the person(s) who made this decision to remind us why we need this when our state and federal governments are broke. This is not like the downtown bypass. That was needed. This one is not. People upset with cell towers, look at the monstrosities built by this project. I'm all for progress, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Shame on Caltrans.

SierraMatt; You lost this fight (along with the rest of us) just about three years ago, when this was in the planning stages.

Hi Grey. I know I did, but just wanted to vent one more time. Sorry, I don't feel much better now that I did. It just kills me.

If you were against this bypass why did you not stop it when it was first planned? It was first planned BEFORE the first signal was in Sonora. They finished the first phase of this bypass in the 1960s. This is not new.The biggest amount of land for this section was purchased in 1968 not recently. When my wife moved up here in 1945 they were planning it then. Jenness Road was the Highway then. It is high time they are doing it.

Ralph04 If we had been against the bypass in 1901 it would have went in anyway. We The People don't really have a say in these matters, They just let us say our piece and then do whatever the H**l they want. It allways been that way and allways will. . As SierraMatt said, The downtown bypass was needed. The rest of it we could have done without!!! Especially right now with every public agency screaming they are broke !!!!!

the bypass, "bypasses" nothing. I was against is a long time ago. All we're getting here is another two lanes with a log truck or a geriatric driver in front of you driving 30 miles an hour up the hill. Choose your poison, stop at every light for the maximum wait, or drive slowly up the bypass, either way, we all lose.
