Update On Various Planning Commissions

My question is how is this new super planning commission going to be formed and who is going to lead it? We have many diverse areas up here, why should some one that has no association to an area , be making decisions about that area when they have involvement with that area. ie Twain Harte sign ordinance. Should the people from Twain Harte be able to tell Sonora or Jamestown what type of signs they could use on Historic building? or what color they are allowed to paint their structures? This new super commission better make sure that their is representation from all area's of the county. Sounds like a power play for good old Bev. As or Pres would say, it my way or the highway.

Consolidate...consolidate...consolidate!!! Great move!!! Now if only the county school districts would follow suit!!! More $$$ for the kids and not the bloated administration staff.

rightwinger - these commissions are all staffed by volunteers, so your dream of saving money is just that, a dream.

Something smells bad....Who's to gain? Developers, and only few members to bribe? Eliminating hour long meetings doesn't seem to streamline so much that it's worth not hearing from the impacted area. I like consolidation to, but imagine buying a peaceful property, and then a greedy developer sticks 80 apartments in your back yard because it was so much easier to push it through one super group that isn't affected by their decision. It will have to be a VERY well rounded group.

I think we should form a committee to recommend ways for this task force to streamline their conclusions about other planning commissions and committees.
