Federal observers flew into Sacramento yesterday to ensure Bera wins.
or are they federal employees of the House, like aides to Lungren perhaps??
From the Sacramento Bee:
Sacramento County Registrar Jill LaVine said Wednesday that the U.S. Committee on House Administration, which is chaired by Lungren, told her it is sending observers to monitor the count in what it called the closest congressional race in the country.
The call came from the committee's deputy general counsel Peter Schalestock, who she said told her "We'll be arriving (Thursday) to observe" with two Republicans and two Democrats from Washington, D.C.

Don't be such a sore loser.
It is my hope that all the remaining votes yet to be counted go to Bera! I for one am tired of Lungren's politics as usual and hope that Mr Bera is elected!!!! We need new blood!!!
Lundgren is the only California Republican who voted against national reciprocity for Concealed Carry Permits. He is becoming a RINO.
OK, I'm just sure Bera/Lungren were not on my ballot. I asked my husband and a couple of friends and they said the same thing.Did we all just miss this on the ballot? Was it on the reverse?
Tuolumne county did not vote for him, Calaveras did...
Welcome to the club GoBama, we are all losers. Thank goodness for term limits on presidents.
Sabrina - I'm in Angels Camp, as are the folks I asked.
Here is the district outline, includes all of Calaveras...
OK...looking at my ballot it had me voting in the 4th district.
Neither Lungren's nor McClintock's .gov website are accurate.
Neither appear to have been updated since redistricting in 2010.
Apparently the newly redrawn District 4 now contains Calaveras county. Its on McClintock's campaign site, but not his official one.
