Reading that all the incumbents on the TUD board probably won't be re-elected just made my day! I looking forward to seeing what's in store for all of us now that Pete's puppet show has been shut down.
Coiler   11/07/2012 09:43:18
Seems all the incumbents made it perfectly clear. They didn't care what we thought, they were all going to do it the way their party told them, or the way "they" wanted it.... I think we all agreed, it was time to clean house!

Now the TUD guys that got ousted are to need to find their own insurance, no more free ride.

As a resident of the First Supervisorial District I was pleased to see the clean and courteous campaign waged between Sherri Brennan and Liz Bass which lacked the outright nastiness seen in some other races, particularly the Bigelow/Oller Assembly race. I must have received at least 20 items from one or the other of them attacking their opponent, and was almost at the point of voting for neither. I think we should emulate Nevada and have a listing for "none of the above" in each race.

This how it supposed to work, democracy that is,if you don't lookout for the people,YOU GET THE BOOT!!!!

"I want to take a close look at T.U.D. and see where we can reduce costs," says Sarno.

Well that's easy, our new highly qualified board members can decline the expensive insurance, lead by example guys.
rightwinger   11/07/2012 11:40:19
The real thanks goes to the voters and ratepayers who saw and felt what the incumbents just continued to do same time and time again.... raise rates not for fixing our aging systems but to pay overinflated salaries and benefits. We want our rate increases to go to fix our pipes and sewer system... and THAT is the point. The challengers ran a very fact based clean race.... just the facts...no smears, lies and scare tactics. The facts won out and the ratepayers are the real winners today!!!

Once the new guys get on the board, they'll soon realize that their hands are tied by numerous State regulations and keeping up with competitive salaries for good employees. You won't see much change at all. Candidates talk big and puff their chests out, until they get on the board and find out facts. You'll see.
SPGIRL   11/07/2012 12:59:01
First thing Sarno does... threatens the hard working field guys jobs. Nice leadership.

Gonna be some interesting things going on in Tuolumne County with so many incumbents booted out. Now lets see if all those new guys and gals will do any better. Change is good sometimes and in Tuolmune Countys case I believe it was needed. I know I for one am going to keep a close eye on TUD to see what happens there. I believe that State Mandates have forced up costs at TUD but these new boys will dig in and find out if that is true or not I'm sure.
ravillataMrCommonSense   11/07/2012 14:06:09
Now does anyone really thing these new guys are going to lower thier wages and bennies to reasonable levels and lower our rates....only a fool would believe there is going to be a noticable difference, regardless, i am all in favor of a new group in there mooching off the public.
rightwinger   11/07/2012 14:14:37
Some people and their scare tactics... why don't you watch and see.... these new guys at least care about the ratepayers....the old board I always wondered who they were working for.... the ratepayer or the workers...who works for whom???
calisdad   11/08/2012 09:54:54
Did I miss it?

Why is there no mention anywhere of Dan Lundgren's loss to Ami Bera?

Lundgren has not conceeded defeat and looks like he will cost the taxpayers money by asking for a recount so he can contimue as a life long career politician.

I love my well!
adrf   11/08/2012 10:17:13
Thanks to rate payers we have a clean slate and hopefully board members who will begin work on making our rates more reasonable. GO NEW BOARD MEMBERS.

I had an empty home for sale and still payed $60.00 per month for water service when no water was being used. The bill while living there was $65.00. Something is wrong with the no water use base price.
dylan53   11/08/2012 14:50:07
Spgirl hard working field guys?who do they work for? I'm on the ditch in tuolumne it runs on my property it's the only sorce of water I have,I filter and have a storage tank I pay$146.00 a month for a miners inch. I have had two large trees that fell into the ditch three years ago and have reported it many times and nothing has ever been done. I live off a main rd on a private rd I have seen these hard workers on my rd many times sleeping hard work? They shut the ditch down four times or more a year and I still pay $146.00 a month they even came and put a restrictor on my one inch pipe to slow down my flow. The property has had a contract for one miners inch of water for 75 years and they came and tryed to argue the point. Let me tell you TUD is as crooked as they come.
dylan53   11/08/2012 14:57:53
And I have to buy 60 gallons of bottled water from a company here in Sonora a year per the state of calif. I sure hope the new guys get things running right at TUD soon or it will be time for me to be digging a well so please don't be talking about the hard working guys at TUD they just want our tax dollers to line there pockets the medical insurance the large wage for sleeping on my property. Next time I will take them a pillow and a nice warm blanket.

The new Board at TUD could lead by example and refuse salaries and benefits. In doing so they would show where their hearts really are. I have allways thought that if you wanted to serve the people you should not accept a salary or benefits. That way there is no question that you are their for the good of the people you serve. Lets see if any of them step up to the plate. Would be nice to see MML & The Democrat put that challenge forth to them :-)
