We should be cutting paths with the 1b money. We have to make this county more pedestrian friendly.
My condolences to the family. Total tragedy.

Yes...forget any paving projects or Bypasses (even though it's different money) and make this County safe for pedestrians and bikers. It is become "beyond" dangerous.
Mt Brow road is nothing more than a glorified driveway, and Jamestown Rd has no shoulders. Most other County roads have poor visibility due to trees and shrubs growing out into the roadways.
This is truly a tragedy.
My condolences as well.

I could not agree more from the above comments, as a county we should be stripping our roadways or a plan to build safe walkways and bike Lanes as apart of our transportation plan. Prayers to the family.
Along the same thought, we need to slow down the express way in downtown Sonora.

In soulsbyville the people along soulsbyville road had to make a statement to the whole freaking county by posting 25 mile per hour signs and sitting alongside the road just to convince everyone to slow down! It is sad that we all live here, we all know what its like to live on little country roads, WHY CANT ANYONE SLOW DOWN?! no need for new roads or shoulders just better drivers, maybe invest more in catching people speeding over DUIs and seat belts...

My condolences to the family. I drive this road to work. Most people drive way to fast on this route. They consider it a "short cut" to Jamestown and beyond, to avoid going through downtown. It's a rural area, people should only drive as fast as safety allows. Especially when there are joggers or bicyclists, please, don't be so concerned about getting to your destination so quickly.

So sorry for this lady and her family. This hits home for me as I also run every morning and have had some close calls. People drive way to fast and have no regard for others! God Bless this family they will be in my prayers.

This is indeed a terrible tragedy. No words will bring that young woman back. But, as the investigation is still in process, let's not rush to judgement. We do not know that the driver was speeding, texting, drinking, etc.. Mt. Brow is a terrible 'road', and tragically, accidents do happen. My prayers go out to all the families involved.

I'm so sad for both people involved and both families. It must be heart breaking for the driver as well as the family of the jogger. My wife and I were on our way home last night and saw a person walking, I saw them way to late if they were out any further in the road, wearing Dark clothing and they just blended into the darkness. I don't see anyone jogging on phoenix lake road thank goodness because they wouldn't have a chance. I plead for everyone who drives that road to please slow down, It's only a mater of time before someone is killed on that road. All my family drives that road and it's so amazing to witness how fast people drive. The highway patrol hangs out there but not often enough. Fines should be very high in populated arias. just so sad. SLOW DOWN PLEASE.

So very sad.... I pray for the Lord to give her family strength at this difficult time. I did not know this young woman, but my heart aches and tears flows for her familys loss. I could not even imagine. I live on Mt. Brow... I have to agree vehicles travel way to fast, even the big rigs on Jamestown rd. I had the CHP out here a few times trying to slow drivers down on my street..... God Bless this Family!!!

I feel Very Very Sad for the family of the girl who lost her life. I'm also sad for the young lady that was driving the car. This is something she will have to live with her whole life and believe me it will allways haunt her. Its still dark that time of morning. I hope for all involved it was simply a very unfortunate, tragic accident.

When I come across a pedestrian or bicyclist I always slow down, move to the left, often a little over the double line if no traffic or turns are coming. I do this to protect all involved and to give the pedestrians a good buffer and a sense of safety. Most of the time I get a friendly wave of appreciation.

There was another jogger with the victim, so wonder why this isn't being reported. She would certainly be an expert eye witness to what really happened here.
