State’s Prison Overcrowding Plan

Previous Posts for this Topic

I'm sorry. But this is just stupid. We can't complain about our crowded prisons while we are cutting our prison work force. Idiots.

I’d say we release 11,000 inmates into the back yards of the three judges.
Dugan   10/12/2012 16:37:25
They can tell the judges that the state will open a series of halfway houses in each of their neighborhoods to help transition the released inmates back into society. That way both the judges and their new neighbors will have a greater opportunity to learn the consequences of their actions.

Soylent green?
Robm   10/12/2012 20:16:13
It look like all the life sentenced idiots in prison should be executed. Hmm I bet that would free up a few hundred million.
leaperman621   10/12/2012 20:49:45
I'd like to see the record of sentence and also the financial history of them. Sounds like more AB-109 shenanigans from bought judges to the leftist party.

Ah....socialism....Make society break down so the Leaders can step in to fix it:)
Why is this even still a question? We've done the experiment twice already.

Take a society of diligent, hardworking people with the same heritage and cultural values, put half of them under Communism and half under Capitalism, and come back and check the cars forty years later. Capitalism gives a range of vehicle choices ranging from the diesel Golf to the Benz 600SEL, and Communism produces the Trabant, and so few of those that they have to be rationed at that.

In the follow-on experiment, Capitalism produces the Hyundai Genesis and Equus, and Communism produces the... the... does North Korea even have an auto industry?

Follow Arizona's lead, Chain gangs doing cleanup work by removing garbage along all the highways and county roads and fire prevention by removing tall grass along those same roads and houses.

30-plus percent of CA's prison population is illegal aliens. Deport 'em. Overcrowding solved.

Great comments, especially Dugan's. Thank you.
Tuslog   10/13/2012 10:50:10
Sent them to Sheriff Joe in Arizona.. He at least knows how to handle them.

I like to look at the problem first and then develop a solution.

The problem: Too many criminals in prisons designed for fewer crooks.
Solution: Offer groups of four prisoners a six man tent and a space to put it, in the prison yard.
Problem solved, and still room for a 50% expansion of the outdoor based prison population.
JRC   10/14/2012 09:17:08
When the prisons are run by the guards and not the inmates, "overcrowding" will not be a problem. That is to say going, to prison will not be a better life.
redline   10/14/2012 11:43:35
Lets release them all give them the judges addresses to go stay. All the prisoners probably committed less crimes then the officials that have put them their???OUR GREAT GOVERNMENT AT WORK AGAIN!!
thrinnskaar   10/14/2012 23:43:53
Unless we stop arresting people for victimless crimes and stupid stuff, we will never stop having this problem.
leaperman621   10/16/2012 11:13:14
It's funny, the Land of the Free is the country with the most people in prison. Wouldn't that empirically state that we are NOT the Land of the Free, but the land of the Duped.
