To the new management team, better make you money while you can, when they open that new casino on 99 south of Merced, there goes business. Or buy new buses for the seniors coming up with SSI check, that are not going to be able to afford to stay in you new hotel.

I agree with Bigguy. I mean really do you expect to fill that casino hotel with this economy? What happens if Obama's band-aid on our economy breaks and everyone loses everything? Maybe think about housing the members there instead of building houses on the reservation. Just an idea.

o-no-bigguy, how negitive can you be!!! I think its a great addition to our area, as was the casino. Not everyone feels that way or we would have one of everything. Way to go Black Oak Casino!!!!

Yellowbee it a basic fact or if you want economics 101, the more Casino, the more the player base is going to spread. Are you going to drive 50 mile to a casino, when you can go down the road 5 miles and play, Maybe once but most of the time you going to go local. Look at Jackson, most of the people from stockton don't stay in the hotel, they rather put their money into the machines. It not being negative it reality, you sound like your a member of the tribe, if you are i wish you all the best. It will not be long before the Govt. realizes how much money they are losing on taxes and let anyone and everyone open a Casino. The true test then will be how many of these Vegas backed indian own casino will be left, when they realized they can open their own.

Thank you everyone for your comments. As the General Manager of The Hotel at Black Oak Casino, we certainly appreciate and value everyone’s opinion. Being recently relocated to the area, I have received nothing but warm welcomes from everyone. We are very excited for the Me-Wuk Tribe and its members for the recent growth. They truly are wonderful caring individuals who value their local community. The Hotel is clearly taking shape nicely and will definitely be a staple in the community. I welcome everyone to come out for a tour of the facility as we get closer to opening in the Spring of 2013. Once again, thank you everyone and please do not hesitate to call upon me if I can be of any assistance.

Paul Medawar, CHA
Hotel General Manager
