One more time. This particular area needs to be a special driving zone from Green Springs Rd. East all the way in to Jamestown. Way too many wrecks and fatalities on this bad stretch of highway.
It was Ms. Miller's lucky day,Best Wishes for a safe recovery.

Well just to you know,Approx. two and a half weeks ago I didi a vehicle roll over just outside of the Cold Springs/lLittle Sweden area up the hill and was medi flighted to Modesto. I was well taken care of by the staff. I Was in the hospital for four days. But by the grace of God I had no passengers or took any persons life. Yes certainly I am still in a lot pain. But I am still glad I am here to type this out. Life is precious. Do not take it for granted..PS a medi flight in to Modesto from the area that I was at was 30,000.00. one hell of a vacation.I am not signing my name, because all you locals know who I am.

However if one is driving while inattentive, in this case looking down at her purse as reported, no highway design will eliminate this problem. BTW, the speed limit from Green Springs to Jamestown was reduced from 65 to 55 several years ago, as a prreventative measure.

PhoenixLake ...wow!Read the article! She wasnt paying attention!!!seven lane freeway doesnt fix that.Maybe we should all wear bicycle helmets and have bumper rails along all the roads?
leaperman621   08/16/2012 11:59:57
Two words.
PAY ATTENTION!

I saw the car right after it happened and it was nothing short of a MIRACLE that this person escaped with her life!
staystrong   08/16/2012 19:10:10
I passed the scene right as she was being put in the ambulance. My jaw dropped and I got tears in my eyes and just prayed for her. I am so happy she survived!! Francis is right, it was a miracle!

People need to remember this is a public forum and this unfortunate situation and this poor woman is a mother, a sister, a daughter and a friend and some respect would be appreciated. what is being said about the accident is not accurate.. The woman involved in this accident doesnt remember anything so idk where this is coming from that she was looking down to the passenger seat.. Her injuries are far worse than what the article lets on and by the grace of god she is alive but its far from over for her.

Firesidedog - $30k, huh? I guess that's why everyone up here should enroll in the PHI insurance program, which costs $40 a year. You never know when you are going to need it.
Norseman   08/20/2012 16:42:59
@ Sunblnde78: As to your inquiry as to where the information is coming from; the article sates, "The CHP reports that Miller had gotten distracted by looking at a purse or bag on her passenger seat."
thetruth   08/20/2012 18:04:16
Mountainma and leaperman621,can`t wait till you to experts on everything crash or get distracted. It will happen so don`t look for sympathy from anyone.Seven lane freeway...wow you don`t jump to conclusions do you.

@ norseman... the chp was not there when the accident occurred so how would they know?the lady in this accident is my aunt. my father spoke to the woman who was driving behind her and her car slowly veered into the oncoming lane.. we don't know what happened.. we may never know as my aunt doesn't remember.. but we do know she wasn't looking in the passenger seat because of what the woman told my father. im not gonna put anything out there.. and I totally agree with u about being attentive.. yadda yadda.. but it really pisses me off people talking smack when the truth is not there.. trust me, if she knew what was gonna happen that day and what her poor body would be put thru.. she would have stayed home.
Norseman   08/21/2012 09:19:49
@ Sunblnde: Then why would the CHP, after conducting an investigation, go on record by making this official statement. In my experiencde LE, is very guarded and conservative with releasing un-verified or un-confirmed information.
Sunblnde78   08/21/2012 14:19:17
@ norseman... this story hit the newspaper not even 24 hours of their 'investigation' i just want it to be known this accident wasn't caused by carelessness.. end of story.
Norseman   08/21/2012 18:41:25
@ Sunblnde78: I have not heard from you today. In any event, I wish your aunt a speedy and healthy recovery, we all make mistakes.
Sunblnde78   08/22/2012 21:27:00
@ norseman.... we all make mistakes? what's your deal? this site won't let me post the things i would like to say to you and it edits what I've wrote so im just gonna say this. we all DO make mistakes, you are right, but your sarcasm is seriously unnecessary.. and for a minute lets say she wasn't paying attention.. as we all have done while driving, whether it be changing the radio station or using our cell phone.. we all are guilty of it.. so until you can walk on water, you really need to get rid of the 'holier than thou' attitude. i do however appreciate your kind wishes regarding her recovery.. but she's got a very long and agonizing road ahead of her as she will never be 100% again.
