When a person goes to the government and says they are poor and need assistance and later it is discovered they had money hidden it's called welfare fraud. It's usually a felony and restitution for the over payments is ordered. The people and organizations that donated to the State Parks believing they were broke need to be paid back. I doubt Governer Brown would match funds with welfare cheats. Also, online reservations for some parks have been eliminated for months at a time due to so called funding shortages preventing timely maintance. Let's see these parks back online for taxpayers to enjoy.

It's so incredibly insulting to the good hearted people of this state that worked so hard to raise money or simply donated money to help keep the parks open. We've also got the GSA (Gov't Services Administration) scandal at the federal level where millions of dollars were spent directly to benefit the employees. The GSA's job is to oversee other federal agencies and make sure they're handling their budgeted money responsibly. We have federal judges using taxpayer money to attend 'conferences' at ultra expensive resorts and the list goes on and on. I can't believe anyone in their right mind would vote for any kind of tax or fee increase. Reduce the waste, fraud and abuse of our tax dollars and there will be no need to increase taxes!!!

Governor Jerry Brown pledged to work with the California State Legislature to direct millions of dollars in state funds to keep parks open, fix serious park maintenance problems and match donor contributions.

He wouldn't say the amount. Which means he is going to steal what was hidden...and give out a drab.
