LOVE to see who conducted that pol and better yet would love to see what the skewed questions really were.... we are so broke it is a joke. Can't afford it any more.

Public employee pension benefits are higher than private sector pensions; that is if you're lucky enough to get one at all. Although I don't believe in eliminating collective bargaining; I do believe that those who have a public sector jobs should be contributing more to a 401k or like retirement fund. Public employee pensions should be about the same as private employee pensions. Our state can no longer afford these bloated pensions.

Who do public employee unions collectively with? The owners of the company? A person with a vested interest in the company? This is how unions bargain with private sector companies. This does not work AT ALL in the public sector. Unions in the public sector bargain with government employees or maybe state politicians, in either case these people can not bargain as company owners would in the private sector. There is no incentive for government employees or politicians to bargain interest of the true owners, the citizens of California. In fact there is incentive for government employees or politicians to bargain in favor of the unions, either in bettering their own pay or in gaining votes. This is why public sector unions cannot work. This was known historically, and why it was not allowed

I have a pension benefit...
It's called hard work...and SAVING. The STATE should butt the hell out.
Every time the govt legislates...pensions go away for privately owned small businesses, all to fund @job creation@ for public unions.
NO NO NO!

The state is in debt, until we are out of debt minimum wage and no benifits.

I can't understand why the state does not hire people at the same rate as a Pvt in the Army. I * sure think our soldiers are more dedicated and work harder than most Cal Trans workers. There is a waiting line to join the Air Force. Save a lot of money that way..get rid of the overpaid lazy people..get some people in their to hussle for a cheap wage.

Another answer: Fire a bunch of them and out source the jobs to the 800 thousand illegals that just got amnesty. I think these are some GOOD ideas. We have been in business for over forty years and we could balance the State budget in a week or so. If there is a problems with the unions..don't fund the project..then they go bye bye;ie Wisconsin elections.

Gotta agree with squirter. Desperate time call for desperate means. They gotta contribute more to their retirement or take less on retirement.
