WOW, not the thing to do in the dry Motherlode area. Could of resulted in loss of life, not to mention the devastation to land and property. Good Job Cal Fire and all involved!!!

You have to wonder what was going through their minds to do this. Arson, fire in general in the Mother lode is everyone’s greatest fear, or should be.

Good job who ever caught theys scum bags it's to bad they can't post there pictures names etc then stake them out in the town square foe a week or two .... And charge there parents for all the damage and resources to put the fires out......

charge their parents i disagree with, i doubt their parents are happy right now. i do agree with the a good whoopin in the middle of town though and a few years of community sevice..

Their parents should have to pay; I bet the parents have no assets.

cane them
remington   07/03/2012 11:06:43
and if they did have assets would that be a good thing to do is take away whatever they worked so hard for and give them to the state to do what with? we pay our taxes for the just and unjust activities of all. taking away their house to put in a general fund is a joke to me when we have government spending the way we do. it would be different if someone lost their life or didnt have fire ins. but hey we get taxed for that already too. pretty soon it will be just like the new health care. the government will never stop trying to get involved in our personal affairs. socialism here we come..

i like the caning idea.

Too bad we don't have a deserted island to put people like this on.
Hey, let's relocate everyone from guam, dump the criminals there, and set up mines in the ocean around it.

I LIKE that idea. Let the criminals feed on each other instead of the citizens of this nation.

Its time we go back to teaching kids to resist peer pressure, instead of emphasizing the importance of "socialization." The problem is OVER socialization with peers turns kids into little uncivilized delinquents. They should all be forced to walk around the burn sites picking up the animals they burned alive with their thoughtless actions.

Parents not parenting yet again. At the very least the names of the parents should be made public and preferably the parents & the kids. We all should have a right to know. Why aren't parents responsible for the monetary damages their kids cause? Talk about the nanny state. "OK Johnnie, you go burn Tom's, Dick's & Harry's houses to the ground but you're not responsible for it & neither are we! We'll just give you a spankin' when we get home. Meanwhile, the taxpayers pick up the bill for suppression & eventually get stuck with higher insurance premiums. One way or the other we all end up paying for it. Kudos to Cal Fire for finding the culprits. BTW, be real nice if Calaveras County did like Amador & Tuolumne Cos.--ban all personal fireworks. There are enough public displays.
