Incarceration without rehabilitation is useless. Unless you are padding your pension.
Less than 24hrs? She was probably still high. Thanks TC Jail, for giving someone a felony, and letting them go in less than 24 hours. Its all about money. Its a cycle. They know by not helping people, they will be arrested again, and more money goes to the "good ol boys" club.
How about house arrest for some? Is this the only county in the USA that does not have a house arrest program? And why not? Oh, $$$$$
With that said, please keep people like this off the streets. At least for more time than you actually do.

why don't we just let her loose with a loaded gun. i think that if you get arrested for a DUI with a child in the car, they should lock you up and throw away the key..

Yea,typical....blame someone else for this persons stupidity!I am positive no one ever held a gun to her head making her do drugs. Its not uncommon knowledge that just one try and you are addicted,so that boils down to your choice. Why should I have to pay to have her rehabbed?Yes,she should have been kept behind bars, but when are you libs going to ever place blame where it belongs?

It is wrong that she was able to drive so soon again, but at least the law enforcement did determine that she was under the influance and didn't let her go the first time. And it is good that someone called in a tip of someone driving crazy the second time. It is unaceptable for her to have her child in the car! She should have her car impounded for at least a month. Two monthes for the second offense. Hopefully she will get some help now.

The Judges that release these people should be held responsible for thier poor or bribe affected decisions. If this person was to hurt someone in the second incident, the presiding judge shouldn't be immune from a personal lawsuit. His decision to release this person was obviously wrong and endangered the general public.

I think the court system is sending a very clear message to the general public. Do what ever you want to do (including felony child endangerment) and you will be booked and released in a matter of hours, hardly even and inconvienience.

Crime pays...the government.
They don't want people to change, recidivism is what keeps the money rolling in, whether it's state prisons, county jail, probation, or officers on the street.

I guess mymotherlode didnt like the comment i tried to post about what the cops should have done to her....Well hopefully this time she goes to jail and stays there forever.
And to "FAILagainREPUBLICANS", I'm pretty sure its the democrats failing when it comes to the criminal justice system because they believe these scumbags actually can be "rehabilitated".

Goes to show you the problem of drug adiction. This woman lost her child and still continued to get loaded. Maybe after she detoxes she will realize that she needs to get help. Locking her up without treatment or counseling isn't going to keep her from getting loaded again. It's always the children that suffer the most.

@FAILagainREPUBLICANS,
I am not sure who is the bigger idiot, you or the women with the DUI.
So we should pay for her rehabilitation? Genius decision. Since i make SOO much money, maybe i should pay for her rehabilitation?
Yes, less than 24 hours. Her actions caused no more time. And jails are full these days due to the awesome powers that be. Man i love Jerry Brown.
I'd rather the "good ole boys" get money than some crappy liberal rehabilitation organization claiming her DUI was caused from a disease rather than her inability to just say NO. Diabetes is a disease, alcoholism is not.
So how long should we keep them off the streets? 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 years. An idiot is an idiot. Until they can just say NO, they will keep doing what they do. It is up to them, no rehabilitation can fix it.

Why her car wasn't impounded is my question, which would've prevented the 2nd arrest. This issue isn't political, it's sociological & as a liberal, I DO place blame where it belongs- a society that's going to Hell in an iPod.
Her age is symptomatic of her generation- which see's little hope for a better world. Drugs isn't the answer but our youth is burdened w/pressure of insurmountable debt, disappearing Middle-class, violence, hunger & widening gap between the Haves & Have Nots. Those who know education is key but whose last name isn't Romney or Rockefeller, go into debt to earn it, while competing w/an illiterate majority due to more kids knowing how to text than actually spell .
Yet what chance does her son have to break the cycle of future Michelle's if he's taught only this life?
