Happy to hear that there wew no serious injuries but this was not a good experience for Murphys. The bikers rolled in, took most available parking and proceeded to hang out. Residents with private homes had people sitting on their front walls, even musicians setting up pop up tents on private propety. With the possible exception of the hotel and Nugget bar, few dollars were left with local shopkeepers and regulars stayed away.

I am so MAD!!! I am the wife of the man being wrongly accused of hitting the passenger of the irresponsbile driver that ran our friend off the road and thank god he wasn't killed! People should know the facts before posting any comments. He got arrested for a dui having drank 2 beers and was under the legal limit. To the person who made a comment about Mick not changing after 20 years, you obviously don't know him! To the driver who pointed out my husband, you should have your eyes checked! I hope she spends alot of time in jail, she deserves it!!!

Relatively safe, except for bikers passing illegally on rawhide road...

This has been an annual occurrence for Frog Jump Weekend in Murphys. The bikers have settled down a LOT in recent years. Yes they sit on the front walls of private homes which are located on Main Street. So do the other thousands of tourists that visit the rest of the year.

As for musicians setting up on private property, I doubt it was done without property owner permission, and if it was without permission, it's the property owner's issue.

You mention how few dollars were left with local shopkeepers besides the bars. I disagree. I saw Aria Bakery being very busy, I saw Murphys Motorcycle being busy, I saw other businesses visited by the tourists. I must also ask this: What were the shopkeepers doing to cater to the visitors? Answer: nothing, just hoping the bikers go away.

The very existence of Murphys, Ca is dependent on the visiting tourists. Even those who choose to ride motorcycles. Taking from the comments here you would think that those who ride motorcycles into Murphys have no money, do not purchase goods and services, and do not contribute anything to the local economy.

I know several of those nasty no good bikers riding 20,000 dollar motorcycles and leaving several dollars at each stop for food, drink, and other goods. I have young children who I have to remind now and again not to bite the hand that feeds you. Something the irritated Murphys residents should remember.

Obvious the ones complaining about the bikers in Murphys are new transplants. The Hells Angels have come to Murphys on fair Weekend for as long as I can recall(Over 30 years)they always police there own,and you should have either done a little research before moving to Murphys or take some advise....dont move to a place for what it is,then try to change it!!!
