LuckyLady   04/13/2012 11:45:23
typical small minded mentallity that if it doesn't personally benefit you then it isn't worth doing.

The amount is $23 billion more than what was sold to voters ? You have to vote for it before we tell you what it is. It's the liberal way. Governor Brown is a idiot ? ? ? Democrats are idiots !!!!!

A State Government in CHAOS!!!!

Were short Billions of budget Dollars, letting prisoners out early, cutting funding to schools, police and fire depts.....yet Brown and the Legislature is pushing this project costing an outrageous amount of money we don't have? Who are they representing???

I guess I am small minded luckylady. I was planning on going to San Diego so I can DRIVE to the station in Merced then get to L.A. on the speed (not as fast as they tell you) train and rent a car to get to San Diego. That’s about as small minded as I can think. Go to nexus.umn.edu/projects/hsr/hsr.

Luckylady...
Small minded? Is that how they will justify it?
If I ask my bank for more money when I am hock deep and debt and no way to pay it off....what do you think the bank would say?
Small minded.....

To those of you who are worried about California's debt and whether or not we can afford this...... don't worry about it. We will spend our way out of debt by creating jobs. Can't you see how well it's working at the national level. Remember the words of Alfred E. Neuman...."What, me worry?"

DIE HIGH PRICED RAIL DIE.
Poor state can't afford it, and don't want it.
MOONBEAM GET A GRIP, WILL YA?

Frank S. Koppelman, who was hired by the California High-Speed Rail Authority to ensure the accuracy of ridership and revenue forecasts, WORKED ON PROJECTS FOR THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE ESTIMATES.

Nothing to see here, folks, move along.

We need to start making moves away from oil. I'm all for rail, but why does it have to be high speed? I'd rather see more rail go down so we can have a train that actually goes somewhere; so people can actually go somewhere on it. It's clear we need to make some changes in California transportation. Holding on to oil is NOT the answer.

These complainers are the same people who would have been against building airports and the Interstate Highway System. Absolutely no vision for anyone, including themselves

To all you Repugs so intent on criticizing the Democrats, put this in your pipe and smoke it. I DON'T agree with this project, and have said so, many times. I think it is ludicrous that this is even being considered in light of cutbacks and layoffs to police, education, and many other fundamental agencies. But at least I have the guts to admit when my guys are wrong. How can you continue to support an unfair tax structure that ONLY benefits the wealthy. Get your side to even up the ante, and then maybe we can find common ground. If you are NOT obscenely wealthy, then the Repugs do NOTHING for you. If you are a WOMAN, they will continue to undermine women's rights at every turn. Not a group I want to hitch my post to...

It would put thousands of people and private firms to work in California for years. DREADFUL IDEA!!
