Sacramento, CA -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is under fire by the state´s parents and teachers for his education budget.
Nearly 1500 parents, students and teachers from all over California rallied at the State Capitol yesterday to protest the governor´s decision not to restore $2 billion that was borrowed last year from mandated education funds.
A Schwarzenegger spokesman says the governor has increased education funding by $3 billion in his proposed budget and plans to repay the $2 billion over 15 years.
He says that any further increase would seriously cut into other programs, such as health and human services.
