PG&E Offers Tips To Speed Up Power Restoration
Sonora, CA -- Although there was a lot of white in the Mother Lode over the weekend, many residents found themselves in the middle of several blackouts.
PG&E spokeswoman Emily Barnett says that it was a challenge to restore power to their customers during the snowstorm.
Moving forward, Barnett has some tips for consumers that will benefit both PG&E and those without power. She says when people see the service trucks; they should steer clear of them due to worker safety and hazardous materials.
Generators are also a safety issue, Barnett says if customers are using one, they have to alert PG&E before their power is restored; otherwise the lines can be overloaded.
She advises customers to contact PG&E regarding power outages as soon as possible by calling 1-800-PGE-5000, or in the case of a weather emergency 1-800-PGE-5002.
