Sonora Man Arrested For Financial Elder Abuse
Sonora, Ca -- Reports of elder abuse have been on the rise locally, and the Sonora Police Department says that the most recent case involves a handyman who was stealing checks from a 99-year-old woman.
52-year-old Danny Rodgers stole three checks from the victim between August and October, and forged a total of $526.
Following the investigation, Rogers was contacted at his home, and admitted to police officers that he had forged and cashed the checks. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Tuolumne County Jail.
If you suspect that you or a loved one is the victim of financial elder abuse, the Sonora PD says that you should report it to law enforcement immediately.
