Mother Lode Views To Focus On Yosemite Community College District

Sonora, CA -- This weekend Mother Lode Views will focus on the Yosemite Community College District and its impact on the community.

Columbia College and Modesto Junior College comprise the two Y.C.C.D. campuses.

Our guests include first year Y.C.C.D. Chancellor Dr. Roe Darnell and Columbia College President Dr. Joan Smith who completed her first year in the Mother Lode January 1.

The chief topic of conversation will deal with state government budget cuts and how they will affect the district. Dr. Darnell will present an overall perspective while Dr. Smith will speak on the specifics at her campus.

In addition both will comment on the progress of the $326 million Measure E passed by the voters several years ago. Both guests will highlight the new facilities and overall improvements at Columbia College.

Both guests will also address the growing need for and the expansion of Columbia College curriculum beyond its main campus. They will discuss bringing the classroom to the student rather than the student to the classroom via today´s technology.

Mother Lode Views can be heard on AM-1450 KVML at 9:30am Saturday and at 8:30am Sunday. Mother Lode Views can also be heard on STAR 92.7 at 9am Sunday and an hour later on Today´s Country, 93.5 KKBN.
