Sonora, CA -- The crime rate in Tuolumne County ... is it increasing or decreasing?

That will be the subject of our Mother Lode Views presentation Sunday.

District Attorney Donald Segerstrom will compare the crime statistics of 2009 with those of 2008 and draw some interesting conclusions. Segerstrom will also compare this past year's statistics with seven years ago.

What crimes are increasing and what crimes, if any, are decreasing? Those subjects will also be addressed by Segerstrom.

Both Segerstrom and Sheriff Jim Mele will comment on reduced staffing levels that are coupled with increasing case loads.

Segerstrom and Mele will also discuss the collaborative effort among the county's law enforcement agencies and they'll comment on the changes in their respective job descriptions over the past couple of years.

Mother Lode Views can be heard Sunday morning at eight o'clock on 93.5 KKBN, 8:30 on AM-1450 KVML and nine o'clock on STAR 92.7.
