San Andreas, CA -- Two men were seriously injured in separate motorcycle accidents Sunday in Calaveras County.

71-year-old Raymond Garric of Elk Grove was traveling northbound on Hwy 49 near Big Bar Road at 2:10pm when he lost control of his Harley, drifted off the road and was ejected from the motorcycle. Garric was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with reported major injuries.

At 3:25pm, 28-year-old Salerno Cortez of Antelope was riding his Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Hwy 4 near Stallion Way when he lost control and allowed it to roll on its side.

Salerno was ejected and ultimately came to a stop in the opposing eastbound traffic lane. The CHP says he was traveling at a high rate of speed. Salerno sustained reported "possible broken ribs" and was taken to Doctors Medical in Modesto.
