Sonora, CA -- A 19-year-old Valley Springs man has pleaded guilty to charges related to a fatal vehicle accident that killed his friend.

Trevor Larson was found to be driving intoxicated and at an excessive speed on the evening of September 5th on Hwy 49 near Rawhide Rd. Larson lost control of his Volkswagen and collided with a tree. A passenger, 19-year-old Cody George, was fatally injured.

Larson has pleaded guilty to a felony count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, According to District Attorney Donald Segerstrom. Larson could face up to a year in jail. Sentencing is scheduled for February 22nd in Tuolumne County Superior Court.
