San Andreas, CA -- It's full speed ahead for Colleen Tracy.
Tuesday the Orange County native will officially assume the position of Director of the Human Services Agency for Calaveras County. She will succeed Jeanne Boyce now the Calaveras CAO.
Although it was a foregone conclusion that Ms. Tracy would fill the vacant slot she says she never felt she was the automatic choice. She adds that she is honored to be chosen for the position by both Ms. Boyce and the Board of Supervisors.
Ms. Tracy adds that the Human Services agency is made up of Public Health and Behavioral Health. The challenge she says is the lack of state funding that will prevent any such agency from delivering all the services that are needed in any community.
Nevertheless she adds that she is looking forward to the challenge. "We have great leadership in this county. For this position one of the most important things for me is developing and maintaining effective relationships with people and organizations especially in these tough economic times."
