Wednesday Fires

San Andreas, CA -- Crews responded to fires in both Calaveras and Tuolumne counties Wednesday evening.

At 8:45pm a 911 call was received for a kitchen fire at 5807 S. Rail Road Flat Rd. in Mountain Ranch. Central Fire, Mokelumne Hill Fire, San Andreas Fire and West Point Fire responded.

The cause of the fire was hot grease or oil on the stove top. The fire was contained at 9:09pm and the event was closed at 10:08pm. Damage was estimated at $15-20,000.

At 10:30pm the Tuolumne County Fire Department and Oakdale Rural responded to a fully involved vehicle fire on Hwy 108 east of Tulloch Rd. The event was closed at 12:38am. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this hour. There were no injuries.
