Waste Water Plant Working

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The new $4.42 million dollar waste water treatment plant in Douglas Flat is up and running. In November the Calaveras County Water District started testing the new plant. District officials say the plant is now open and running beautifully. It will allow the District to process 75,000 gallons of waste water per day. The water can be used for irrigating of golf courses, vineyards, and other uses along the Highway 4 corridor. District officials say the plant is producing water quality which far exceeds the permit requirements of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Board.

“The District could not have completed this project without the support and cooperation of the Douglas Flat community and the energetic pursuit by the CCWD staff for the state grant” said Board President Dennis Dooley. He adds the Douglas Flat community was instrumental in the District receiving the State Water Resources Control Board Grant to construct the plant.
